Dally backed away from me, harshly eyeing the guy that just defended me. He winked at me and went back to sit in his chair at the table.

I quickly diverted my eyes to my torn up black converse, and I could feel my cheeks flush a vibrant shade of red at Dallas' gesture.
"So" said Sodapop, edging towards me.
"Liz?" He questioned, as I tore my gaze away from my converse and back to Soda's awaiting face.
I scanned the small room, and noticed all of the four greasers in the room were staring at me with the same awaiting eyes.
"Umm... Er, I should be going now" I stammered.
"Liz, it's fine, you can stay here" said Soda, holding his hand out, to block my path to the front door.
"Hate to break it to you buddy, but she can't stay here" exclaimed one of Soda's friends that was laying on the couch.
Soda and I's attention was now directed at the tall boy, who was only wearing a blue unbuttoned shirt and jeans.
"We gotta go down to the DX today, it's a thursday" he said, answering Soda and I's confused expressions.
"Oh, right" Soda said, lowering his hand out my way.
"Liz, you can come on down to the DX with Steve and I"
I pondered, I knew the DX was the gas station down the road, I was still worried that my Dad was still in Tulsa looking for me.
"Liz? What do you think?" Asked Soda.
"Umm, Yeah, I'll come with you guys I guess". I wasn't sure If I wanted to tell Soda about my dad, but I was sure that I didn't want his friends to know about my dad.
"Cool" Said Soda's friend.
"We gotta leave now though" He said, walking over to the door
I followed him over to the front door, Soda trailed behind me.
