Narushika & series 2 (one shot)

chapter 2

- shikamaru pov -

he's a great friend... friend, friend  ha I've never used that but i need to keep him around. i smile to myself as he runs home i  turn and head to my room "that took a lot out of me" i sigh "i just sat down"
"stop complaining" my dad says "what took a lot out of you?" 
"hey dad, i uh had a friend over"
"*gasp* shika! that's amazing" my mum runs in and hugs me tightly 
"*groan* mum, not too hard" she blushes and lets go "it's cool but a bit troublesome" i say shrugging but also trying yo hide my blush, I've never had a friend and i feel really happy inside, like i'm willing to do things for them

"i'm having a shower" i say
"no" my mum says and lightly smacks my head "i want details"
"well, his name is naruto uzumaki haruchi, he likes ramen and the color orange and we ate ramen and played shogi and he left not too long before you guys came home" i say
"go have a shower dear, i don't want your room to smell like teenager" she pushes me along "go" she urges
"ok i'm going" i say and laugh as i walk to the bathroom i strip down and examine myself in the mirror, hmm.

the hot water is soothing to my body, well it's too hot but i can't be bothered to change it 
*knock knock* "tea's ready dear"
"be out soon mum" i yell, turning off the water and putting on my pajamas i walk to the dining room where washoku is served with a side of mackerel. my family are there but minus sis
"yum, thanks mum" i say and press my hands together before bowing
"ooh, shikaku we raised such a respectful child... lazy, but respectful" she laughs
well dad laughs too, after that we ate in silence and when i was done i took my bowl and washed it in the kitchen 
"good night mum" i say and she gives me a hug and kiss on the cheek
"mum! please just no, good night dad" i say and wave, he smiles... once i was in bed i couldn't fall asleep

so this is what having a friend is, it feels amazing i just want - even in the same room is fine, just his company is enough and i'm willing to risk a lot to see that he's okay because he's my best friend and that's what friends are for, i lay in bed and think about our afternoon and shogi, how my parents reacted and finally i found sleep... 

*** time skip ***

it's thursday and also my 4th day here, i'm loving it even though i don't have many friends... i have one awesome friend

i got to school a bit early today, i know me early? but naruto usually gets here early and i love hanging out with him "hey naruto" i yell and wave really big as he walks in the school gates about an hour and half early, his entire aura lit up and the best smile showed on his face, i couldn't help but mimic it
"hey shika!" he calls out and runs up to me
"how are ya naru?" i ask
"i'm fine, sakura fought with sasuke but i have a feeling sasuke will forgive sakura fro punching his face through the wall into my parents room" he says, so light heatedly
"what happened?" i ask, i was truly curious
"sasuke walked in on sakura naked in the bathroom and because she's 15 and he's 18 and she flirts A LOT she got pissed cause she thought he was a peeking tom, total accident but she punched his face it was bloody funny though" he laughs for a solid two minuets "anything exciting at your house?" he asks me
"my sister's paying a surprise visit which is cool, i saw the text on the way to school" i say
"oh cool, is her boy friend coming too?" he asks

"no because he's the KAZEKAGE" i say loudly
"oh yea hehe" he rubs his neck sheepishly, it's cute 

*ring ring ring* "ugh, school" i say and groan
"hey! but tomorrow's friday believe it!" naruto gives me a thumbs up, he's awesome, but school is such a drag, i didn't give school my whole attention so all i caught was some boring lecture on chakra natures and kekkei touta i learnt this in the sand already but still, i'm first to finish and i decide to help naruto "you need help" i ask

"yea, all i need to do is list an example of someone who has a kekkei touta" he huffed loudly
"well i know the tsuchikage uses particle style" i only want to help
"your right he does use a kekkei touta thanks" naruto smiles in a super cute way

after lunch iruka sensai gave us a pop quiz about the hidden sound village. i got an A and naruto got a C-
"damn it" he whispered
"need some help?" i elbow his arm
"oh yea! you're smart, could you help me study?" he asks. he's very excited today
"uh sure we co-" i was going to say but
"AWESOME, MY HOUSE TODAY" and he looks genuinely happy,
"sounds like a plan" i grab out my phone and text my mum, she was happy which is good

*ring ring ring* "yay!" naruto packs up his things at lightning speed then grabs my hand and pulls me along "uh" i yell as he's running and i'm fumbling to collect my self and run
about 5 minuets of outright sprinting we got to his house
"that should give us about half an hour before sakura and ino get here" he pants
"nice thinking" i say breathlessly 
"this way" and he opens a door, "the bottom bunk is mine and the top is sasukes, don't go there, he's an emo 18 year old with anger issues" he warns and i get a clear picture of him in my mind

"hello?" mebuki asks
"oh hey mum, shikamaru this is mebuki haruchi" he says and i bow respectfully
"what a nice friend you have naruto" she says
"well i'll leave you two to hang, i'll be in the kitchen" she says and walks out, 

"ok first we'll learn about the hidden sound village, then hidden cloud, sand, mist, grass, stone and lastly rain" i say... i sit on the bed while naruto swings on a chair next to the desk 
"the hidden sound village are a village located in the land of rice patties, it was formed by orochimaru so there fore he is the otokage, it's shinobi focus on concentrated sound for their attacks and defenses, it was created because orochiamrus largest hideout is their but the village itself it very hard to find because it's under near constant attack due to the information it holds about nations then sells to other nations" i say, i look up to see naruto almost asleep but i know he heard me 
"oi! wake up" i yell, he jumps up
"sound village" he says and looks around and smiles sheepishly 

"next village" i was about to flip the page when naruto flies himself at me, snatching the book from my hands and clutching it tightly 

"no more villages tonight" he whines, we both tumble to the floor but sadly he still has the book
"what a drag, keep the book we'll do more tomorrow" i say semi happily, i ate reading out loud
"stay for dinner besides it's already 7 pm" naruto says 
"lemme call my mum"i say but i knew she'd say yes so i text her and she says yes
"she says yes" i say, reflecting narutos beaming smile but mine will never be that bright, only a dull glow.
"shikamaru, so glad you could join us" mebuki states happily, she reacts like my mum

"thank you for having me" i say
"oh please, your mum is my bestfriend" she says and waves her hand "naruto, can you get sakura for me, ino left an hour ago" naru nodded and i follow
"sakura, dinner's ready" naruto yells through the door
"okay" she says, when her door opened all i saw was part of a large hole and a lot of pink
"oh" she squeaks "shikamaru, i didn't see you hi" she blushes and tucks her hair behind her ear

"gosh, where is sasuke?" mebuki asks, everyone is seated, i got to meet fugaku haruchi he seems nice but busy. suddenly the door opens and soft heavy metal music can be heard from which i can only assume was very loud in sasukes ears he dropped his stuff in their room
"hey, shikamaru" sasuke says when he takes off his ear phones
"you smell like weed" fugaku says
"sasuke!" mebuki yells "i did not raise you that way" and she hit him in the head "you'll eat with us" and she promptly sits down and stares at sasuke until he takes a seat next to sakura
"how was school guys?" sasuke asks
"it was fine, naruto got a C- on a pop quiz where i got a B+ so he got tutoring from shikamaru" she snickers "oh and another boy asked me out today, i'm popular, i think ino's jealous"

dinner was much like that
"thank you for having me" i say as i stand at the front door

"oh please, it was no trouble come again any time and tell your mother i say hi" mebuki walks back into the kitchen, sasuke was being disciplined for smoking weed and sakura was talking to her boyfriend "i'll see you at school tomorrow, me your house?" naruto asks excitedly
"sure i say" smiling
"thanks, i wanna try something" he wraps his hands around me and pulls me into a bear hug, it was warm and fuzzy, i hugged back, he smiles

"see you at school" i say and walk home....

i don't think friends are this intense, this is- is more...
