chapter 3

- naruto pov -

shikamaru is really smart and polite, i love how my family all like him too, but sakura in a way that i don't whole heartedly approve of but anyway it's nice to have someone... he feels. like, like *sigh* just awesome, there's just one thing he can't know though and i reach down and touch my stomach where the 8 trigram seal is

i always try to not really invade kuramas business we're friends and all but forced friends so we kinda keep to our own... "i'm taking the shower" sakura and i call as we both step from our rooms at the same time
"not before me" she says and starts to sprint down the hall
"oi, not fair" i yell, waving my fist at the pink haired girl about a meter away,
"shadow clone jutsu" i whisper... a clone appears inside the bathroom

"eeek!" sakura squeals, i'd transform my clone into gamakichi "n-naruto, it's a toad!" she wails and runs into the kitchen, i took this opportunity to use the shower my clone disappears and i laugh hard 
"oh. my. god! her face" i say and wipe a tear from eye she's so stupid *bang bang*
"naruto! was that your clone!?" sakura yells 
"yea haha" i'm still lying on the ground her face was pale, her eyes wide and then she jumped like a meter in the air and squealed, she almost fainted *CRASH*
"cha" sakura yells and steps into the bathroom, the door 
"sakura, the door... it's broken" i was struggling for words "how?" 
"this, i got it today" see says proudly and points to a diamond on her forehead, the yin seal

"now leave or i'll punch you harder than i punched sasuke and he broke a wall" man she's scary
i scramble up and walk out defeated 

i guess i'll shower in the morning and i head to bed, 
*** time skip ***

"oh no" i look at my alarm clock and see 7:50 am "school starts in 10 minuets, i live 15 minuets away!" i jump up, hitting the top bunk in my haste as i pull on my jumpsuit, grab my bag and brush my teeth
"5 minuets till school starts" i say as i check my watch, man my head hurts from that stupid bunk bed. when i arrive it's just before school and i head to my class, i'm going to be really smelly I've never ran so fast in my life but kakashi sensei is always late so i'll be fine

i open the door and walk in and see kakashi sensei
"i came early today so i though i'd start the lesson early, also the rest of the class got to see my face with out my mask" 

"aw come on! really?" i ask
"really!" shikamaru says as i walk slowly to my seat next to him
"how are you?" i ask when i grab out my books for another boring lecture on the hidden sound, he blushes slightly
"i'm fine, you?" he replies
"i'm fine, sakura awoke the yin seal last night and broke the bathroom door, i woke up 10 minuets ago, *sigh* i hit my head on the top bunk this morning" i say
"hmm hope your heads okay but sakura's been here for about half an hour" he says
"WHAAAAAAT!" i scream, standing up and pounding the desk with my fists

"mr haruchi, do you have something you want to share?" kakashi asks me, he looks really bored *sigh* "i'll continue"
"no wait, sakura... " i say menacingly, the class gulps 
"what cha want?" she asks "i wanna do my work"
"tailed beast mode" i whisper, i light up brightly, black stripes and circles cover my body then i use my faster than light speed to punch her in the gut, i didn't punch her hard but i knew it hurt
"what was that for?!" she asks, clearly annoyed but she doesn't fight back
"for last night and this morning, you have heightened sences from the yin seal" i say and return to my normal self and seat

"what was that?" shika asks me
"don't worry" i reply and continue my work, class dragged on and my head ache worsened so during third period with asuma sensei i was in that class learning about my wind nature, sakura was with hiruzen sensei for earth nature and so was shika.

"sir" i raise my hand "i have a head ache, can i please go to sickbay?" i ask
"ok naruto, be careful" and i step outside, the school is very big but on my way i pass shika and sakuras classroom, but i continue to walk, suddenly
"*gasp*" 
"hehe relax naruto it's me"
"how'd you get out of class?" 
"told sensei i needed to pee" he laughs

"well, that's good i guess because i might pass out"
"why?"
"remember that headache? well it got worse and it hurts a lot" 
"what a drag but we better get you to the nurse, shizune" he puts his arm under my arms and around my back then he helps me walk to the nurse.

"oh, naruto what's wrong?" she asks when we walk in
"i-"
"he hit his head and has a headache" shikamaru says
"ok well, shikamaru thank you for taking him, you may go to class" she says and he bows
"i'll visit at lunch" shikamaru winks and walks out, he's great but friend it's getting kinda boring, could there be more? no there can't be...

the next hours were a bit of a blur, i had medicine, slept, shika visited and told me about how this afternoon i was going to his house and we'd study the hidden sand village, i slept some more and woke up to the bell at 3:15 pm to go home
"hey, how ya feeling?" shika asks me, leaning against the door frame and smirking
"much better now" i say, i suck at flirting believe it!
"cool, but where we're going takes a little longer to get to" he grabs my hand, and we walk along me kinda lagging behind but he was cool with it
"where are we going?"
"the nara forest"
"what's that"
"before my family and i lived in the sand we lived here, only nara clan members can enter but you're with me so we're cool and stuff it's troublesome though"
"cool"

"yea it is, cool" 

when we arrived the air was cool for spring, it was the beginning of september but the sun was still in the sky "this is awesome"
"yea it's cool but there's a really awesome tree near the lake that i like to go, we'll go there" 
shika guides me through the forest 

"wow it really is awesome" i climb and sit on a branch close to the ground and he sits at the trunk "what were we learning about again hehe?" i ask, smiling sheepishly
"*sigh* the hidden sand village" he replies and rolls his eyes "ok, the hidden sand is in the land of wi-" 
"i'm hungry" i say
"look up"

"uh! apples believe it" i climb up and pluck two large apples from the tree and i pass one down to shika, when i jump back to the branch i was on... i slip and fall but i'm able to wrap my legs around the branch so i'm hanging upside down "please continue"

"*sigh* troublesome.... located in the land of wind,  so the kazekage." shika talked about that stuff for about 20 minuets, he loves the hidden sand. 

"surprised you didn't fall asleep again haha" he laughs "so"
"yea, so" oh my gosh now is so the time to tell him, but if i don't feel this maybe i am sick. but what i- i do have a crush on him, if i don't tell him he'll never know and i'll never get another chance to tell him!!!

"don't stress"
"KURAMA?!" i enter his inner realm "what's up with you? you never talk"
"you've never experienced love, i'm not just a burden i'm here for advice and questions, i can help you know" he says
"you said you know"
"*sigh* love makes you feel happy, does shikamaru make you happy?"

"yes"
"how so?"
"i want to be around him and hug him and stuff"
"so more than friends?"

"i don't know, yea i guess"
"be confident"
"what if mebuki and fugaku find out, they'll hate it"
"naruto, *sigh* if they truly love you, they'll be fine"
"well then yes" 
" you love shikamaru good job on being the last uzumaki. that's gay, so much for your clan"
"hey! i'm leaving here" and before he could respond i was back with shika

"hey what are you doing next week?" he asks
"nothing i think"
"cool because there's an exam on taijustu and you weren't very good, i was thinking we can use this forest for practice as the exam will be in training ground 44, also known as the forest of death"
"*gulp* seriously?"
"didn't you read the note?" he asks, i smile and rub my neck sheepishly
"he he maybe"
"*sigh* it's getting late almost 6" 
"oh, yea" i say dis hearted "i hadn't noticed"
"i'll see you tomorrow" he says and begins walking me out
" hey when's your birthday?"
"22nd of september, yours?"
"cool, 10th of october" i reply
"bye naru"
"bye shika" and i head home
