Narushika & series 2 (one shot)

chapter 8

- shikamaru pov -

"relationships aren't all about making out, wanna play a game of cards or something?"
"sure, i'll get some ice cream" naruto shouts from the kitchen, i walk into the lounge room to retrieve uno cards, i place 7 on my side and 7 on his side
"yum!" naruto comes in licking his cute lips, and staring hungrily at a large bowl of vanilla ice cream with two spoons in it
"got uno set up so we can play"
"alright believe it!"
"oh i believe it because i was the one to set the cards up!"

we played cards and ate our ice cream at a leisurely pace then watched some horror movies 
"you stupid girl, when you hear a door creak, you don't say hello! ugh"
"lock the door next time, so cliche"
"trip and fall over, cliche"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" naru fell off the couch and clutched his stomach, i thought something was wrong until he was just laughing really hard, he could hardly breathe it was really funny
"i don't trust your humor if you laugh when people die"
"no silly! it looks SO fake and that's what makes it funny"
"if you insist" i shrug and turn my attention to the movie but it was already finished and the credits were rolling "didn't like that movie anyway, what do you wanna watch next?"

"i need to do exercise, we had an entire 2 liters of ice cream ya know"
"what do you suggest?"
"lets go to the forest and train? mum never said we couldn't leave the house"
"fine by me"
"cool" he shouts, jumping off the bed then he grabs my hand and starts dragging me but i regain my feet and run at the same pace, but we forgot to let go of our hands and we ran right down main street with our hands interlocked, great now everyone will know.

"hey naru?"
"yea"
"how do you feel about becoming public"
he freezes for  split second "i uh... i dunno" he rubs his neck sheepishly and smiles brightly
"because we're in the middle of main street, holding hands" i look at our hands and so does he, his face is puzzled but i know he has an answer he caresses my face
"i'm not gonna hide who i'm dating" he says and he kisses me lightly, i'm the middle of main street, midday saturday guess it's too lat now, we're public so i kiss him back then we run off to the nara forest, this doesn't look innocent to anyone who doesn't know that we're going there to train 

"i'm gonna win!"

"i'm still winning 3 v 1"
"well i'm still gonna win"
"we'll see" i say smirking and i get into taijutsu stance and so does he
"ninjutsu?"
"round 1 and 2 no, 3 and 4 yes"

"ok"

"3 2 1 go" he runs at me with a kunai which a block with my own kunai, he jumps back 
"shadow clone jutsu" and three narutos appear (not including the original), they nod. whats he got in store? i prepare my self and when i look back, there are only two clones and the original i presume. two of them come at my from either side and start attacking me with kunais, kicks and punches but i'm able to block and deflect them. i hop out of the way so that naruto kicks naruto and both clones poof away, where's the others? i search the trees but then i'm flown to the ground by a kick, i was too busy watching to canopy and that naruto was in the leaf litter but he poofed away, so i need to find the real naruto, the ground slightly moves and i get punched, same place just other side and naruto strikes up from the ground, the same way he won the fight with neji. 

"good job"

"alright i won! believe it!"

"i'll need to step up my game" i wipe a small amount of blood from my face

"i'm sorry to hurt you shika"
"don't worry about it besides, you need payback" i smile evilly and we both take position, while naruto is tying his shoe lace i set up a substitution jutsu and hide in the high canopy.

"you ready to lose again?"

"i don't think so" other me smirks, he really is like me and he runs up, throwing shuriken at naruto which he blocks most of them but he gets some cuts, sub me jumps and starts trying to kick and punch naru but his clones jump out, this is my chance... i get ready to jump because his clones both kick sub me from behind, and sub me poofs into a log. now's my chance! i jump out and latch onto naru, we both fall over with me sitting on naru
"oi get off me!"
"looks like i win!" i smile and look down at his squirming body
"please shika, get off me"
"nah, this is a good place to cloud watch"
"*sigh*" naruto uses all his strength and gets on his hands and knees then makes me fall off
"good job" i say scarcasticly 

"well i'm pooped"
"we leaving?"
"yea, i wanna clean my room and shower before sasuke and sakura get back"
"ok, i'll let my mum and dad know i'll be staying at yours for dinner"

"ok" he says and starts collecting his things, i sprint to the edge of the forest

"mum?"
"dad?"
"yes dear?" my mum says as she walks out, smiling "you've come home so early!"
"well naru and i were practicing taijutsu in the forest" i see my mums face fall majorly but it perks up again quickly
"good thing you're home now, i don't know WHAT kind of things could have happened" she says innocently, (a/n she sounds like makos mum from kill la kill) she grabs my elbow and starts to pull me in
"mum wait, i was telling you i'm having dinner at narus house"

"oh... ok, just be home by 10 and please, i know you are friends with naruto and all but just don't spend too much time with him"
"mum, i'll be fine"

"but he's not what he seems"
"i don't know what you're going about, i'll see you later. bye mum" i run back to naruto who's patiently waiting

"hey you're back early"
"yea, my mum was being weird"

"how so?"
"she said that you're not what you seem, like why would you hide stuff from me?"
"yea... hiding stuff, no way" his voice wavers, i'm not stupid, i'm actually really smart
"naruto, what's going on?"
"nothing! i swear"
i eye him suspiciously but drop the subject and we walk home in a kind of un easy silence.

*** time skip (taijutsu exam day) ***

"ok students, you know the rules, names in a hat i'll pull out 2 names at a time and they'll fight" kakashi says and points to training ground 44, where this test was taking place, i walk up and place my name in the hat an give naruto a quick hug
"good luck"

"you too" he replies but looks around and blushes, he's still getting used to 'us'

"first up we have hinata vs shino" kakashi announces, hinata won
"next we have kiba vs ino" kiba won
"sai vs sakura" sai won
"shikamaru vs tenten" i won
"naruto vs rock lee" lee won, it was quite a boring day but we went home in the afternoon, naruto and i both passed me with an A and naruto with a C+.

"i passed, believe it!" 
"yea i do believe it"
