- naruto pov -

awesome! a sleep over, believe it! oh i don't have pj's
"uh, shika?" i ask sheepishly
"yea?" he replies as he pulls the spare mattress
"can i, uh have some pj's please"
"sure, wardrobe, 3rd draw from the top and throw me the green ones please" so i grabbed an orange top and blue pants then a set of green ones for shika
"bathroom is next door down right" i ask
he nods his head, i walk out and am immediately sucked into kuramas realm

"oi" i yell and wave my fist at him "what was that for?" he snorts
"i need to tell you something"
"well then, spill"
"tonight's the big night" he smirks or smiles, either way it doesn't look too crash hot, i can my face blushing with anger
"you dumb fox! i'm not having sex, with shika, at his house, when i'm only in year 9, your just as bad as kakashi sensei"
"ouch, but i didn't mean it like that i swear" 
"oh yea? then what did you mean" i say defensively puffing my cheeks and pouting the other direction
"i meant tell him how you feel"

"oh" my blush disappears and i stop pouting, i look at my feet and fidget them "what if he doesn't feel the same?"
"you need to be confident, if shika does he'll think you don't so only way to clear the air is to say it" he says and stretches his long legs "*yawn* i'd say you've been in the bathroom a bit too long, go out there and get him fox *wink*"
"i can't believe i'm taking love advice from the supposed creature of hate 'demon fox'" an i leave to my world again, but i hear him snickering softly from the back of my head

"naru? you've been in there a while you ok?"
"oh, yea shika i'll be out soon"
"*happy sigh* ok" he says and i can here his smile, i start getting changed really quickly then i brush my teeth and push the open with more force then needed
"whoops" i say as shika almost has his face broken
"be careful dude, gees" he says and checks the door, oh no he hates me now! he'll never love me now
"i know that look, i don't hate you just don't break the door" he smiles and heads into the bathroom to get changed and do his teeth, *sigh* i'm so happy that he doesn't hate me

then i probably should take his advice, i enter his realm 
"sorry to bother your beauty sleep" he pries a vibrant red eye to stare at me

"what do you want?" he grumbles
"hey, where's nice kurama i was talking to a few minuets ago?"
"*sigh* nice kurama isn't nice when he's tired"
"gees, i told you i'm sorry for disrupting you ok?"

"ok but don't stay long"
"what should i say to shika?"
"how am i supposed to know, i can't read your thoughts, how about i be shika and you be naru?"
"ok but i don't see how this works"
"oh hello naru" kurama says in a high pitch shika voice
"hey shika, i was wondering something"
"yes darling naru kun?" he says, i burst out laughing
"this isn't helping" i say sternly he rolls his eyes
"ok fine i'll be normal shika, shoot naru"
"well you know i was wondering if you maybe wanted to.... i dunno, i can't do it kurama!"
"say what your heart says"
"wow, that was cheesy"
"but it's true" he retorts
"touche, ok hey shika will you go out on a date with me?"
"too straight forward, he'll like it because isn't he like super lazy?"

"yea i guess he is" i move my hand and see my watch "kurama! I've been here for hours!"
"stupid boy, time moves faster here, what in you world is minuets in hours here so we can chat longer so you've only been out for about 2 minuets"
"oh, well i'll let you get some beauty sleep hehe bye" and i enter my world again just as shika was exiting the bathroom, perfect timing

"lets go to the lounge room" he suggests and we walk down the hall and turn into a large blue room with a speaker, coffee table and purple couch.
"music?" 
"sure" he presses the on button
"oh man! this is my jam believe it!" so i start to sing

"catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause, i will travel across the land, searching far and wide, each Pokemon to understand, the power that's inside
POKEMON, gonna catch them all! i know it's you and me,i know it's my destiny" i sing and dance, twirling my arms then i grab shikas arms and pull him up, his character cracks and we both dance and laugh like complete idiots.

when the song is done, i turn to shika who's staring at the door with a heavily embarrassed face, then i turn to see his mum and dad watching us from the door, lol.
"oh! hi mr and ms nara" i say smiling and rubbing my neck sheepishly
"you have... good skills" mr nara says, hehe yea right i'm just having fun but i know i'm bad
"you too shikamaru" ms nara says and he blushes harder
"naru made me do it" he says

"WHAT?! sure i pulled you up but dancing was up to you" and all four of us laugh
"well we came to tell you guys that it's very late and i think it's time for bed"
"ok goodnight mum and dad"
"good night mr and ms nara"
"good night naruto, sleep tight" and they both walk out, i can swear i saw her glare at me for an instant, we both walk back to shikas room, he jumps on the bed and sits cross legged, i lay on the mattress, stomach side down.

"wanna play 7 questions?"
"whats that?" i ask
"you ask 7 questions and the other person has to answer them truthfully after you ask 7 questions you must answer 7 questions, get it?"
"yea i do, scissors paper rock? winner asks first" 

"ok"
"scissors paper rock" we say simultaneously, he has rock and i have paper i wrap my hand around his fist
"i win, ok question 1. have you ever dated anyone?"
"well uh, yea but promise you won't judge?"
"promise" i hope it's not his sister
"i dated a boy in the hidden sand called kankuro" he says, this day is just getting better
"question 2. what was choji like?"
"choji was sweet, always willing to help. he was extremely king and cared for everything. he loved to eat and he often cloud watched with and that's why i always do it"

i take a minuet to think of another question
"question 3. do you blame the 9 tails for chojis death?"
"i used to, but i don't as much now since i found out the fox was under a genjutsu, but it disappoints me, i don't blame the 9 tails but i can't forgive him either" he says, my happy day gets way worse, oh man! that really hurt both of us, kurama because he had no control over what happened that day and it was affecting his jinchuurikis life and naruto because he had kurama inside him,

"question 4. what were you and your mum talking about before"
"oh that, well she doesn't like the fact that i hang out with you i don't know why but i defended you but she sees how close we are which scares her, she shouldn't be though" 
"i don't know what she means either, maybe it's because i'm adopted" wrong i knew, she knows I've got kurama, she's scared i'll hurt shika

"yea maybe"
"question 5. what is your dream job?"
"well i know yours is hokage so i'd be your right hand man so you'll be the best hokage ever"
"thanks shika" i say smiling n the dim light coming from a lamp on shikas windowsill
"question 6. why are you really lazy?"

"why are you really energetic?" he replies

"that's not an answer"
"but i didn't lie so it counts" he says, smirking and i pout at him
"question 7. what am i to you?"
he is silent, eerie silence in the room "you. are. my best. friend and i. wouldn't trade. you for. anyone. else. you make me happy, warm and fuzzy. I've never had a friend before and i'm happy that i. befriended you" he says, picking his words carefully, my heart sinks I've been friend zoned

"ok my turn" shika says "i'm having a pee break" he gets up and walks out
"kurama i wail internally as i enter his realm and just cry, i slump down onto the ground at his large paws
"hey naruto, don't cry"
*sob sob* "why?"
"i dunno! but why did you have to come here to cry"
"i didn't want shika to see"
"oh, well i'm sorry but didn't you hear the part about warm and fuzzy, only a friend isn't warm and fuzzy, he was probably trying not to give off that he loves you too much"

"you really think so? *sniff sniff*" i use my sleeve to wipe my face and i stare at kurama
"i know so" he says smiling and this time it looks good, genuinely happy un like last time
"thanks" and i wake up and look to find shika not here but his footsteps coming nearer 

"hey" he says happily and places himself on the bed again
