In my sister's shadow

She gets the attention
She gets love
She gets rewards
She gets to be happy
She gets to party

Because she behaves
She is nice
She can't fail
She does it all right

And me
I'm in her shadow

She's an angel with big wings
And I
I can't crawl around them
My wing are broken
Beaten
Cut
And stained with tears

But people don't see
They don't care
She is in the light
And she casts a shadow on me

I don't want your pity
I don't want your help
I can care for myself
Like I have always done

I'm sad
I'm dark
Her wings stop the light
from reaching me

I try to do better
But I can't defeat the shadows
You can't save me
Because i'll alway be
In my sisters shadow
