"So are you girls excited for next year?" Sierra asks smiling kindly.
"Absolutely, Ebony will be happy that we finally have a new rider on the team" Mia says nodding eagerly.
"It'll be good to finally try out for the advanced team" Scarlett says after Mia.
"Well I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited, although I'm just wondering how I'll be able to do all the things I want to do in time" I said shrugging.
"You girls are going to be the best group at around, you have super cool mums and funky horses" Sierra says grinning.
"Woah woah, slow down mum, don't over do it will you" Scarlett says putting her hands up.
"Talking about funky horses, can we go to Bluestone now? We've had lunch" I ask pouting.
"I'm not su-" mum begins but it cut off by Julia.
"I think it's a great idea, let's get going" Julia says with Sierra agreeing eagerly.
...
"Storm" I call rushing over to him as quickly as possible. I left everyone in the dust the minute we got out. Mum was trying to put down ground rule but everyone ignored her. Like seriously, when a girl gotta see her horse, a girl gotta see her horse, there's no "ground rules" stopping her.
Storm nickers as he pokes his head out of the stall. His palomino winter coat looked absolutely adorable. I quickly grab a treat out of my pocket and give it to him before entering his stall to give him a massive hug. His fluffy coat was warm and cuddly, I think I'll just stay here all day. Eventually I let go and he nudges me with his head as if demanding more attention. Big sook.
"I missed you so much" I said petting him some more.
"Great, your here, I thought you finally realised how much of a bad rider you were and left for good" a voice said from behind me bitterly. It was Tiffany, oh joy, of course she's going to try and ruin my day.
"Yeah because that's why I got a scholarship to EFA, one of the best boarding schools in America" I said rolling my eyes still facing Storm.
"You're only a legacy, there's nothing special about you" Tiffany snickers.
"Please. She can beat you any day" the familiar voice of Mia's floated in the air, I turn around to see her walking over with Heather.
"You know I'm starting to get sick of this, ever since late this year Bluestone has gone pear shaped because you got some scholarship. You think your so great because your going to EFA. I'm SO glad your leaving. You're pathetic. Everything you do is P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C. I promise you, even if it's the last thing I do, I'm going to ruin that schools equestrian team and end all of you" Tiffany snarls to all of us before storming off down the aisle and disappearing.
"What got her knickers in a twist?" Scarlett asks, Mia immediately laughs at this.
"Scarlett! Shhh, she might hear you" I hiss shooshing her trying to cover up my giggles.
"Don't care, so when you getting back on your horse?" Scarlett says dismissing me while rolling her eyes.
"Well I don't know, I'm not suppose to be riding for about 5-6 weeks but I think I'll be fine riding bareback, just no jumping. And mum can't find out" I said lowering my voice incase she's near by.
"So maybe if we have your mum drive us here early morning she won't stick around and no body will see us" Scarlett says looking in deep thought.
"Sounds good, but we should probably go out on the trails just in case someone arrives early, and we'll tell Hailey that I'm going to take him for a walk and lunge him with you two" I said smiling at the thought of being able to ride again.
"Can he be ridden in a halter? If so I've got some attachable reins I can bring in my saddle bag" Mia asks.
"Yeah, I usually ride out in a halter during winter because the bits get super cold" I said thinking about last year. We had a super awesome Christmas, mum and dad were home so we got to trailer Storm out to my grandparents property in Kentucky. We all went riding that day through their property consisting of hundreds of untouched acreage. Good times.
"Okay awesome, we'll get up at 5:00 then leave by 5:45 and be ready out the front of the stables at 6:00 where we'll walk into the woods and you can hop on after a few minutes" Mia says.
"Lets do it" we all say together before laughing.
