I woke up to the sound of my irritating alarm clock. It was a new day. A new start, at a new place.

I opened the curtains and the warmth of Korea covered me like a blanket. The house was very quiet though.

I was about to take a shower when I saw a note on my bedside table. It was from grandma.

Morning, Kiera. Grandpa and I are already at the restaurant. Have some breakfast on the table.

-grandma

Oh, I guess they woke up early this morning. I think I should give them a help later in the afternoon.

I took a shower and ate breakfast. I did the laundry and spent some of my time cleaning the house. It wasn't much work as the house was mostly clean before I tidied it up.

It was already one in the afternoon and I changed my clothes into a more comfortable and appropriate one.

I stepped out of the house and walked to the restaurant as it was just a few buildings away.

Once I arrived, I was greeted with the smell of Korean food and grilled meet once I entered the restaurant.

I saw my grandmother serving food to a customer. She saw me and asked me to come to the back.

"Hey, grandma. How's business today?"I asked.

"Oh, it's the same as always,"she replied while preparing galbitang as per ordered by a customer.

"What can I help you with, grandma?"I asked, while tying an apron on me.

"Oh, can you take orders from the customers who just came in and also bring this galbitang to table 4."

I nodded and she handed me the galbitang. I brought it to table 4 as my grandmother had asked.

"Thank you,"said the customer. I smiled at him and proceeded to take orders.

It was almost dawn and the number of customers coming began to dry out.

I was cleaning the tables when my grandmother received a call. I watched her talk on the phone and her expression seemed sad.

She ended the call and I approached her.

"Is there something wrong?"I asked her.

"Oh, no. But your sister is coming here tomorrow. I was showing an unpleasant expression because your sister didn't sound fine."

"Oh, really? Why is she coming? I mean, she's busy so..."

"She actually is but she managed to get a few days off. She came because she was worried for you."

Oh, I think that I am actually more worried about her.

It was already nighttime and it was time to go home. My grandparents and I went home together in the cold night.

Once we arrived, I quickly went to my bed and laid down. It was nice to be home after a busy day.

I massaged by shoulders and hands, the day was tiring. How did my grandparents manage to do this business for years.

It was really tiring but I was grateful that I could help lift the weight off of my grandparents' shoulder. The work also helped me forget my pains and sorrow for awhile.

I sat up and called my sister.

"Hey, sister. So you're coming here tomorrow?""

"Oh, hello Kiera. Thank God you sound Okay. I am so worried about you,"she said and I could hear her sobbing quietly.

"I'm alright, Sister. I am actually more worried about you. How are your studies doing? Were you able to pull them off after all of this? I hope you're doing Okay. You didn't have to come here though. I mean, you're busy there but still you're coming here. Have a safe flight! I missed you."

"It's nothing, I missed you too. Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. I have to pack my things for now. Goodbye,"

"Goodbye,"

Me and my grandparents were waiting for my sister at the arrival gate. I couldn't stand still because I am actually excited to meet her.

A few minutes later I could see someone with sunglasses which was carrying her luggages at the arrival area. It was definitely my sister.

She looked around and I waved at her. She smiled and rushed to us.

"Hello, Sister. How are you?"I asked and hugged her. She hugged me back.

"I'm doing alright. How are you doing grandma and grandpa?"she greeted and hugged them both.

"It's so good to see you again,"my grandfather said.

My sister gigled and we brought her luggaes into the car. I took my seat beside her and she was still wearing her sunglasses.

I ignored it and just sat quietly. We were already on the move and I saw at the corner of my eyes that my sister had taken the sunglasses off. Her eyes were puffy and red.

Oh My Goodness, it must've been very hard for her. She drifted off to sleep on the way home and I held her hand in mine, hoping in my heart that she would be alright. Losing both our parents was very hard.
