We decided to walk back to my grandparents house as it was quite near.
"Mark, actually, I have a confession to make,"I said slowly.
"Hmm? What is it?"Mark asked.
"I'm actually really really bad at basketball and netball. I've never once in my life even shot a ball into the ring of both games. I tried to, a lot of times. But I'm still a loser at it,"I admitted.
"Yah, it's fine. Not everyone can do it. But are you serious that you've never even shot one ball? Not even one?"
I shook my head.
Mark made a face at me which I think means "Too bad".
"Actually, I've been wanting to learn how to play basketball properly but I've just never thought of actually doing it."
"I can teach you if you want."
"Really? Are you willing to train me?"
"Why not? It'd be fun."
"I'm not a fast learner, I'm serious."
"That's fine too,"he said.
"Yes! Mark Tuan is going to teach me basketball, yay! When do we start?"I asked, anticipated.
"I can see that you're very excited. Well, how about now?"
"Alright, let's go the basketball court near my grandparents' house. It's quite deserted there."
--
I've been warming up for an hour and Mark keeps on asking me to go on. "I'm tired! Please give me a break,"I whined for the second time today.
Mark laughed. "Alright, here you go,"he handed me a bottle of water.
"When are you going to start showing me how to play basketball?"
"Come here,"Mark demanded and he was already standing in front of the goal post.
"Why? I'm tired!" I cried but I found myself marching towards where Mark was standing.
"Let's play a round before I teach you alright? So that I can see where your errors are. That way, I can show you the right way to do something that you're lacking."
I nodded. "This is exciting!" I tried to focus and Mark starts to move. After a few moments later, I managed to tackle the ball from him and was going to make a shot.
"Aim on the small square!" Mark guided.
I focused and threw the ball. But as always, I failed again. This is hard.
"I don't think I can ever do this, Mark."I sighed.
"What? You're giving up already? That was a warm up round. It's alright to make a mistake. Now, I'll show you how to aim." Mark who was from the center of the court marched in my direction and snatched the ball from the ground.
"Aim like this," he raised up his arms and threw the ball. It entered the ring perfectly.
I tried to follow the way his hands aimed and remembered it in my head. Mark picked up the ball and handed it to me.
"That's not right." Mark regarded. He raised up my elbow a bit and straightened up my arms. "Like this, now throw it. Aim at the small square,"
I threw the ball again but it still won't enter the ring. "Mark, let's just give up. I don't think I can ever do this."
"Shh." Mark then stood at my back and helped me to aim right at the net.
I'm tearing up because he was so dangerously close to me. I believe even if we become best friends, I'll still have a fangirling side in my heart for him.
"Now focus, look. Raise your hand up like this. Be brave. Strengthen your grip and throw!" Mark guided and I threw the ball with his help.
And it went in the net. Yes! "Wow. Yes finally I made my first shot."
Mark smiled at me and I knew he was happy that he was able to teach me. You know that feeling when you accomplised something?
"I'm so happy. Thank you, Mark. But that was with your help."
"Don't mention it. Now you try."
My first attempt was another failure but I shouldn't give up now. I was ready for my second attempt. I positioned my hands just like how Mark had taught me. I threw the ball and it went in! "Yay! Mark, I made it! Thank you so much for teaching me. I know shooting a ring isn't much but it's actually meaningful to me since it was my first time actually making a score after the 18 years of my life."
"You said you were a slow learner. From my observation, you are actually a fast learner. How about a round or two?"Mark suggested.
"Sure."
We played more than two rounds and I was getting better at basketball. But sadly it was time to go home.
"I had so much fun, Mark. I guess I'll see you again?"
"Yeah, I had fun too. It was great seeing you inprove a lot in just one day. Goodnight. The members will probably be wondering why I was gone for long. I'll go now. Goodbye!"he said and rushed back to his dorm.
It was night time and I almost arrived at my grandparens' house. But the dark night got even darker when suddenly a sack was put over my head and I couldn't see a thing.
Omfg! I'm sick of this kidnapping. I'm seriously going to do something about this myself because I just figured out a perfect way to solve this.
//
There I go with the kidnapping again! I'm sorry :/ but I have a plan for the plot of this story so... The kidnapping thing is actually an element to build up this huge plot that I was going to write :) So be curious and wait for the next updates!
