"Kiera, Kiera?"
I woke up and saw my mother who was trying to wake me up. My legs hurt because she had shook me there. Luckily, I didn't whimper.
"Yes, Mom?"I tried to use all the voice I had left as it was quite sore by yesterday's shoutings.
"Let's go somewhere,"she said, looking so happy.
I sat on my bed and smiled at her while rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "Where are we going?"
"Breakfast and then an unplanned trip,"my mother replied and skipped out of the room.
"It's been so long since we had our time together. I also feel bad that we haven't spend much time with Kiera,"I heard my mother say to my father in the living room.
I was happy, that my family is still as close as ever and that finally we are going on a trip after so long.
I took a shower and dressed myself into my skinny jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt to cover up my bruise.
"Mom? Do we need a tent?" I asked as I saw her in the living room.
"I've packed it in the car,"my father answered before my mother could.
"Alright then, all set?"my mother asked.
I nodded and helped my father to load our things in the car.
We got in the car and a classical song was played, just the way my parents like it.
I felt a rush of nostalgia which reminded me of my old village with my grandparents from my mother's side which have died long time ago.
At the same time, it also reminded me of both my grandparents who are in Korea. They had a hanok which we rarely went to visit since they were also busy in Seoul for their business but it had been a great experience to be able to spend a night in one.
We drove on the road, passing by the wonderful sunshine in our neighbourhood. I wish my sister had been here with us.
After listening to another few classical songs, we arrived in front of McDonalds. It's been a while since we've been here together.
We ordered our food and took a seat at one of the tables, waiting.
"Should we call sister to come next time?"I asked.
"We probably should. That'd be perfect,"my mother answered.
"Oh, I just remembered something. Guess what?"My father suddenly said and looked at my mother and then to me.
"What is it, Dad?"
"I got in the golf tournament next month!"he told us.
"Wow, really? Congrats, Dad. I know you'll play good,"I congratulated him.
My father had been obsessed with golf. It was actually hard for him to balance between his hobby and business but he has been improving a lot. I was happy that my father was happy.
We finished eating breakfast and continued our planless journey.
"Dad, let's go to the amusement park, how's that?"I asked. It's been long since I've been to one.
On our way there after breakfast, my mother suggested that we should visit her sister first since it's just in our way.
When we arrived, we rang the bell and my cousin, Noah opened the door.
"Kiera? Hey, it's been so long!"he said when he saw me.
"Noah? I know, right?"I was also happy to see him. We gave each other a small hug and went inside the house.
My parents were busy talking with Aunt Maurine and uncle while Noah and I played with his little sister, Sofia.
"How's life?" I asked Noah.
"Good?"he laughed.
"Oh, guess what?" I smirked at Noah.
"What, you have a boyfriend now?" he teased.
"No!"I wish I had one. "I met Mark Tuan."
"Mark? Who's that?"he questioned.
"That idol that I liked."
"Oh! That's cool,"he said like its nothing.
Probably boys would never understand how it feels like to meet an idol. I sighed.
I told him about Mark once when I was watching Got7's music video.
It was time to go and my parents were already outside, waiting for me.
I approached my aunt to say goodbye.
"Remember, Kiera. Always take care of your parents and make them happy. They're so happy that you're with them right now even though your sister is not here. Maybe you don't really need them as much as they need you. Be thankful of having them even though they're always busy,"My aunt suddenly said to me.
I was confused why she suddenly said like that but my mother called so I quickly went out of the house and waved them goodbye.
Once we arrived at the amusement park, I could see that there were so many kids.
We stopped by only for awhile and went to the shopping mall. We bought some food and drinks for our camp tonight.
In the shopping mall, the song Hard Carry was playing. Got7's really famous. I can't wait to meet Mark again.
