Standing Still

16 4 2

And there we stood:
Broken, bruised, and alone
desperately trying to repair the fractured hearts, bones, and dreams we carry.
Forced to cover the pigments of purple and yellow that grace us.
A room full of people that point their chins upward, leaving it empty, while packed full;

And there we stood:
Broken, bruised, and alone
Crying on the floor wishing the pain would cease to exist;

And there we stood:
Broken, bruised, and alone
because no matter how hard we tried to heal no one saw
our broken hearts,
our bruised bodies,
we were all alone in this.
And when the pain reached agonizing,
no one heard us scream.
