"What if you fly?"
My dear, what if I fall?
What if I jump,
heart pounding,
wings flapping,
hope blazing,
and realize too late...that I can not fly?
What if I fall from the sky,
lungs empty,
fear high,
body exhausted,
and just know....that I would never fly?
What if I hit the ground,
broke my bones,
shattered my dreams,
only to realize...that it was foolish to try?
What if,
with this newfound failure,
I realize...that I could never go anywhere,
no matter how hard I tried? For, my dear, what is a bird without it's wings?
And so it shall go:
"What if you fly?"
"My dear, but what if I fall?"
