Fright and Fight

Stumbling and falling in the darkness she runs with tears drying on her cheeks, with shaking hands, and a heart that's beating so fast it may explode. She's running with straight terror coursing through every inch of her body. This girl, she isn't scared of the dark, it's what's in the light that frightens her.

One look was all it took for her fingers to start fidgeting.
Someone to call her name for her heart to start working overtime.
One person laughing at her to start the unending thoughts.
One person to bump into her to start shaking, and for the fear to set in.

Judgment lies in everyone's eyes while horror of what they're judging plagues her mind.

Head of horrors, she runs with fear.

Runs toward what will nullify the monsters.

His anger and sadness is hidden under lock and key, not ever to be opened and put on display for the world to stare at. Never to be shared or understood. Touched or felt, for someone may drop and shatter what is left of him.

They come and go. Words dance off their tongues- dropping a match into a pit of gasoline and they soon realize actions have consequences. They all watch but none know what is destroying the head atop those shoulders, and no one cares enough to try to see that he is trying to set himself on fire. That he is not burning because he fell for their light. No, he only needed to use someone else's to spark his own end.

Life meanders through everyone's sparkling eyes while wishes of death lie in his own.

Head in hell, he walks with fire.

Walks toward what can put him out.

----

One trembles from the look of others.
One walks without a fear of anything.

One wants to become so small they're invisible to the world.
One wants to burn themselves from the inside out so they're gone from it.

One pours water on the other to stop them from burning.
One leads the other out of the dark and into the world.

He shows her, her fear isn't real, that she need not be scared of who is watching and she provides oxygen for the flame, to keep it burning, but to prevent him from burning himself.

Each a head of horrors and hell.
