I like that ... but ...

"Steve, can I please take this thing off? I can't see where we're going." I stated after a minute or two of being in what I was guessing was his car. And let me tell you, from what I could tell, Steve was a horrible driver. He kept swerving, which made my nails grasp the leather seat even tighter.

"I know. It’s kind of the point of the blindfold." He chuckled. I growled at him under my breath.”Did you just growl at me?”

I didn't reply as the car made another harsh turn.

Not knowing where you are going really is not fun. Thoughts of places we could be going popped into my head.

A theme park ... To cold ...

Ice Skating ... Possibly.

Movies ... not sure!

"Gaa!!! I need to know!" I shouted and he laughed.

"You're very impatient," Steve bluntly admitted. I wanted to rip off the blindfold, but right then the car stopped and he grabbed my hands. "Don't you dare," he said in a stern voice. I stuck out my tongue. Hoping I was facing him and he saw. Then all the sudden I felt something grip my tongue. "People with manners don't stick out their tongue."

"Iamnotonetohavemanners."  (I am not one to have manners) I mumbled with my tongue still clasped by his fingers.

"What? Couldn't understand you ... Steve got your tongue?" He joked.

"Ha-ha, letgoofmytongue." (Let go of my tongue)

He released it.

"Now, please, take off this damn blindfold," I pleaded once more.

"Nope, not until we are inside." I heard his door open and close.

Seconds later, the passenger's door opened. I got out, Steve led me somewhere with his hand on my back.

I had a feeling we entered a building by the wave of warm air that hit my face.

I felt, who I guess was Steven, untie my blindfold.

"Finally, thank you," I turned to see a black headed, blue eyed boy behind me, holding my blindfold. "Ummm, where is Steve?" I asked the guy.

He said nothing, just walked away.

How rude!

Once he walked out of a door to the side of me, I looked at my surroundings to find Steve had taken me to ... a bar?!

Yet, from the looks of it, it wasn't just any bar, but it was clearly a country style bar.

Oh, great, not my ideal first date.

Wait, is this a date? If so, where the hell is Steven and who was that guy that took off my blindfold and then rudely walked away.

Wait, where is everyone? The place was deserted.

Yeah, I'm chillin' on a dirt road,
Laid back swervin' like I'm George Jones.
Smoke rollin' out the window,
An' ice cold beer sittin' in the console.
Memory lane up in the headlights,
It's got me reminiscing on them good times.
I'm turning off of real life, drivin' that's right,
I'm hittin' easy street on mud tires.

I looked to my side, to see what heavenly voice was singing another one of my favorite songs: Jason Aldean, "Dirt Road Anthem".

Upon looking over, I saw Steve was on a stage and had a guitar in his hand. He was at the microphone, singing all while looking at me.

Back in the day Pott's farm was the place to go.
Load the truck up, hit the dirt road.
Jump the barbwire, spread the word.
Light the bonfire, then call the girls.
The king in the can and the Marlboro man.
Jack'n'Jim were a few good men.
Where ya learned how to kiss and cuss and fight too.
Better watch out for the boys in blue.

I giggled, man, he can sing...

And all this small town he said, she said,
Ain't it funny how rumors spread.
Like I know something ya'll don't know,
Man that talk is gettin' old.
Ya better mind your business, man, watch your mouth,
Before I have to knock that loud mouth out.
Im tired of talkin, man, ya'll ain't listenin',
Them old dirt roads is what ya'll missin'.

I'm chillin' on a dirt road.

I sit back and think about them good ole days.
The way we were raised, and our southern ways,
And we like cornbread, and biscuits,
And if it's broke round here we fix it.
I can take ya'll where ya need to go,
Down to my hood, back in them woods.

We do it different 'round here, that's right,
But we sure do it good, and we do it all night.
See, if you really wanna know how it feels,
To get off the road with trucks and four wheels,
Jump on in, and man, tell your friends,
We'll raise some hell where the blacktop ends.

I'm chillin' on a dirt road.
Laid back swervin' like I'm George Jones.
Smoke rollin' out the window,
An' ice cold beer sittin' in the console.
Memory lane up in the headlights,
It's got me reminiscing on them good times.
I'm turning off of real life, driving that's right,
I'm hittin' easy street on mud tires.
Thats right.

At the end of the song he stopped and just gave me a blank expression.

"Steve ... that was ... Wow, you can really sing!" I said in amazement. I felt like the air was knocked out of me.

"Really you liked it?" Steve asked me.

I nodded. "It's one my favorite songs."

He smiled, "I know, you told me. "Want me to sing it again?" He asked.

Sitting down at at table in front of me, I nodded and egged him to play it once more.

"I'm so full!" I stated as I patted my stomach in contentment.

After listening to him singing songs for over an hour, he took me to McDonald. Well, actually I asked him to take me here, after he told me he had never been to McDonalds.

"Good, I won't want to take my girlfriend back to her dorm, hungry."

I froze at his words.

He just looked at me, seeing if I accepted what he said.

Girlfriend?

I liked the ring to that ... but ...

"I have to go," I stood up and ran out McDonalds.
