~*~An Announcement to Make (Pt. 2)

As if a switch had been flipped, what had once been a calm and docile airport, turned into a mad house of angry passengers protesting the flight delays.

Becky stayed put in her corner, watching as chaos took over the flight gate. She'd never seen people clear an area so fast. Because word of the delay meant the passengers would be staying longer, most of them wandered off either to complain or get something to eat.

Within minutes, the entire gate was devoid of people aside from Becky and two older women who had stopped in for a place to sit down.

Because it was only a quarter after noon, Becky didn't feel the need to get up and get anything to eat yet. She knew it would be a mad house out in the airport so she decided to play it safe in her corner with her book.

She dug the book from her bag as well as a bottle of water in case she got thirsty. Becky sat and read for a while, nearly two hours, before she decided to get up and stretch her legs.

She'd stayed in the same position for the entire two hours and needed to use the restroom as well as stretch out her muscles. She started to wander around aimlessly until she found the ladies room a few yards from her gate.

Yongguk sat on the back of his chair with his feet resting on the seat as he looked at the boys seated around him. Himchan had his head resting on Zelo's shoulder while the younger boy watched a movie with the other boys. Jongup was sitting on the floor holding an iPad, oblivious to the three boys watching over his shoulders.

Yongguk couldn't help but smile at the boys. They were like his second family and he felt responsible for them at all times, being the oldest member among them.

It was because of this sense of responsibility, that Yongguk watched each boy like a hawk at all times. His eyes were flicking over each member and he could see Daehyun's growing boredom with the monotony of sitting in the same place for so long.

They hadn't expected the snow storm in Chicago that caused the delay. So now, they were sitting in a cleared out flight gate waiting for the storm to pass. They weren't at the right gate Yongguk knew. They had left theirs as soon as the announcement went out over the PA system. He had wanted to beat the rush and get some food into the members before they were forced to wait in lines for hours.

Now that they had eaten, they were falling into a lethargic state and Yongguk was ready to rouse them from it.

"Yogiyo!" Yongguk said suddenly, getting the attention of the boys. They all looked at him curiously except for Himchan who gave him a hard look through sleepy eyes. "Who wants to get up and stretch their legs?"

Each of the members perked up visibly at the prospect of walking around a bit. They were still unaccustomed to the United States and the thought of walking around the airport and exploring a bit was better than just sitting around doing nothing.

"Himchan-a, you take Daehyun and Youngjae with you. Get something hot for everyone to drink and we will go back to our original gate. I'll take Junhong and Jongup to find us something to do as a group once we get there. We will meet there in an hour, ne?" Everyone nodded eagerly at Yongguk's plan and scrambled to their feet.

Yongguk watched warily as Himchan, Daehyun, and Youngjae walked off in the opposite direction as he, Zelo, and Jongup. It unnerved him to have them separated from him in a foreign airport but he needed something to kill their boredom.

Becky waited in line for the bathroom for nearly forty five minutes. When she was finally admitted into one of the cubicles she was relieved and finished her business quickly. After washing her hands, she exited the bathroom and stood in the main hall of the airport for a second.
