~*~ An Announcement to Make (Pt.6)
"Sorry," they both whispered. A small smile slipped onto their faces as a matching blush rose to each of their cheeks.
"Can't sleep?" Zelo asked, despite the obvious answer.
Becky shook her head, her smile growing a little. "I can't seem to quit thinking long enough. It's like my body is tired but my mind isn't..."
Zelo nodded his head. "I know the feeling." He too was having trouble with shutting off his thought process. Although now, his thoughts were all running together and he was having trouble thinking of what to say next.
They both just laid there for a few minutes, letting the sound of the airport wash over them. There was a glass door to their flight gate that one of the older women had pulled shut so the sounds were muted but still audible.
Because it was nearing ten thirty, most everyone was busy finding a place to bed down for the night. Zelo couldn't believe how lucky they were that no one else had interrupted their evening. He had thought that the room would be bustling with people and excitement. He was glad it wasn't.
As Becky watched Zelo, a peaceful smile touched her lips. He was so beautiful. His dark eyes kept flashing to Becky's face and then away again as she caught him peeking at her. His own lips were turned up at the corners in a sweet smile and his hair was in a casual mess.
A small yawn escaped Becky as she found herself watching Zelo. Now that she was focused only on him and she could see him in front of her, she felt her mind easing away and allowing herself to sleep.
"Goodnight, Becky-ah." Zelo whispered to the sweet girl lying so close to him.
"Goodnight, Zelo-ah." Becky repeated the sentiment and it made Zelo a little more bold.
In a moment of his boldness, while he could see Becky was still awake but fading off quickly, he whispered. "You can call me Oppa. If you'd like."
A sleepy smile lit Becky's features before she was too tired to maintain it any longer. "Goodnight, Oppa."
Zelo knew she was asleep by the way her breathing evened out. He laid and watched her for what felt like forever but he knew it couldn't be more than a few minutes. She looks so peaceful when she's sleeping, he thought to himself.
He laid there for a few more minutes just taking in the sounds of his peacefully sleeping hyungs and the ethereal look of Becky framed by the light coming in from the window behind her. He found his own eyes growing heavy with the burden of sleep. With each time his eyes closed, he found it just a little bit harder to open them again.
Zelo wished he could stay awake for just a few more moments, to fully capture the image of Becky in front of him. Her face wasn't hidden by her curtain of hair and it wasn't faced towards the ground. No, now he could truly see all of her beauty laid out before him.
He knew he wouldn't last much longer in his fight against sleep so he let out a resigned sigh. "Joeun bamimnida, Becky-ah." Zelo whispered to the sleeping angel. Just as he knew he was about to succumb to sleep he knew there was just one more thought he wanted to get out before he was too awake and too shy to say it again. "Sarangheyo."
