~*~ An Announcement to Make (Pt. 4)

Becky looked up after a while and could see the backs of three dark haired boys in the row of seats in front of her corner. She barely paid them any attention at all before she pulled her legs up to her chest in an attempt to stay a bit warmer. It was cold by the window but she loved the view she had of the outside.

She was still blasting B.A.P through her headphones and thinking of all the things she could have and should have said to Zelo. Looking back, if she could, she would have wanted to at least talk to him for a bit longer. The coward in her is what caused her to bolt when Jongup arrived. Now she'd lost the opportunity and she was likely never to see him ever again.

The thought almost brought tears to her eyes. Almost. Instead, she just sat there, looking out the window, and having imaginary conversations with him in her mind. Conversations that would never happen... If only she could go back in time...

A shadow fell over Becky and then someone was tapping her shoulder. She was about to tell whoever it was that she didn't want to be bothered when she looked up into the same black, single lidded eyes from earlier.

Her breath caught in her throat and she gasped at what she was seeing. Zelo was crouching next to her with his head cocked to the side. He motioned for her to pull out her earbud and she did so quickly, forgetting that she even had them in. She was too focused on seeing him again.

"Are you thirsty? We have tea. It's for you if you'd like it. It's still hot." Zelo held the cup out to Becky, his eyes averted to the floor in between them.

"Thank you," Becky said, taking the warm cup from his hand. Their fingers brushed during the exchange and both of their cheeks turned pink from the contact. "How did you find me?" Becky asked, loving the warmth the cup offered.

"Find you? This is our flight gate. We are flying to San Francisco for a concert... What are you doing here?" Zelo blinked owlishly at Becky who stared at him in amazement.

"This is my flight gate. I'm flying out to San Francisco to spend Christmas with my cousin..."

"Zelo-ah! What's taking so long? Invite her over! We won't bite!" Himchan called from the table a few yards away. Yongguk reached over and flicked Himchan in the ear. "Ow! What was that for."

"Pabo! The boy is talking. Let him talk!" Yongguk scolded Himchan before he realized the two kids were still watching him. He smiled a gummy smile and waved at them.

"I'm sorry about my hyungs." Zelo apologized, the bright spots in his cheeks still prevalent.

"It's fine. I think they're sweet. They care about you." Becky was envious of the relationship Zelo had with his band mates.

Becky often felt isolated at home and Chelsea was her outlet, her cousin that lived on the other side of the country. She tried to put the jealous feelings aside though, she would see Chelsea soon enough.

"Would you like to join us? We're just going to talk and play some games to pass the time."

"I wouldn't want to intrude."

"You wouldn't be intruding. I'd like for you to join us." Zelo smiled genuinely at Becky who just nodded, dumbstruck by this perfect boy. He held out a hand to help Becky to her feet and then picked up her bag for her. They walked shoulder-to-arm over to where the other boys were all sitting cross legged on the floor around the low table. "Everyone, this is Becky. Becky this is Yongguk, Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, and Jongup. They're my hyungs."

"Mannaseo bangabsuemnida." Himchan and Jongup both slid over to make room for Becky and Zelo. They sat next to each other, with Becky next to Himchan and Zelo next to Jongup. There was only silence amongst the group for a second before Himchan broke it.

"So Becky, where are you from?" Himchan took a careful sip of his coffee and smiled at her genuinely. Zelo was acting much more like himself now in the brief period of time since he'd found Becky and Himchan was glad to see that.

"I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm going to San Francisco to spend the holidays with my cousin Chelsea." Becky answered, feeling a bit awkward talking with everyone watching her.

"Oh! And you're flying by yourself?" It was Yongguk who spoke from across the table.

Becky nodded her head. "Yes, my family stayed home but I wanted to see Chelsea. It's been nearly a year since I've seen her last and I miss her."

"Weren't you nervous about flying alone?" he wanted to know, interested in the young girl. Zelo was right, she had something about her that drew them all to her.

"I was nervous about flying in general!" Becky admitted with a laugh. "When I got on the plane this morning, it was my first time ever on a plane. I wasn't really sure what to expect."

Yongguk looked impressed with Becky's answer. He admired courage, and that was something this girl had. He was glad that Zelo had found her again.

"So, you are a BABY, nae?" Daehyun asked from next to Jongup.

Becky was sure that her cheeks were going to be forever stained a bright red. "Nae," she nodded.

They were all fascinated with Becky and they sat and talked for over an hour. They asked her a bunch of questions, wanting to know everything about her. She answered all of them, losing the awkward feeling little by little as they talked. Every now and again she got a question in to Yongguk or Daehyun but for the most part the attention was on her.

Zelo sat contentedly next to Becky and remained relatively quiet. He was enjoying watching his hyungs interact with Becky and listening to her as she answered all of their questions. He had learned so much about the younger girl in such a quick time. Secretly, a part of him wished the snow storm took a long time to stop.

"Becky-ah, can I touch your hair?" Himchan asked after staring at it for some time.

Becky laughed and tilted her head to give him better access to it, "Of course." She was asked the question a lot and, even when she wasn't, a lot of people just touched it and walked away without saying a word. People were fascinated by the thick curls and the natural dark red color.

"It's so soft!" Himchan remarked, his eyes sparkling in childish delight. He continued to pet Becky's hair and play with the curls while Becky explained to Daehyun what it was like in Pennsylvania.

"Alright, let's stop interrogating her now. Hyung can we play some games?" Zelo asked, referring to the bags that Yongguk had neglected next to him.

"Good idea, Zelo-ah!" Yongguk dumped the contents of the bags on the table and all the boys and Becky were surprised at the random assortment of items Jongup and Yongguk had bought.

There were sketch pads, markers, crayons, yo-yo's, decks of cards, puzzle books, a cribbage board, Battleship, and a twenty pack of embroidery thread.

"I think you picked the most random assortment of things possibly available in an airport..." Becky was astounded at the things they picked up. "Do you even know what this is?" She held up the cribbage board and Jongup shrugged his shoulders while Yongguk shook his head. "Alrighty then..."

Zelo took possession of Battleship and set it up between himself and Becky. While the two of them played Battleship, Daehyun and Youngjae played Kai-Bi-Bo, Yongguk and Jongup played cards and Himchan was still petting Becky's hair.

"The snow is really coming down out there..." Zelo said, looking out the window while Becky thought strategically about her next move.

She looked out the window too and said, "Yeah, it is. I wonder how long it will be until it stops..."

"Let's all just be thankful we are safe in here and not out in that weather." Yongguk was staying positive while trying not to worry about the concert they were scheduled for the next day. They were supposed to be in San Francisco by the next morning but at this rate, they'd be lucky to make it there at all tomorrow.

They all turned away from the window and back to what they'd been previously doing. Not ten minutes after they'd turned away, all the lights in the airport went off.
