~*~ An Announcement to Make (Pt.5)

"Ah!" Becky squeaked, scared by the sudden darkness. The windows let in a little light from outside but it wasn't enough to fill the entire room. Once Becky's eyes adjusted, she realized that all of the boys were looking at her... "Sorry, I'm just a little bit afraid of the dark..." she admitted, and for once she was thankful for the darkness, they wouldn't be able to see the dark red staining her cheeks.

"It's alright, we are still here with you," Yongguk reassured, looking at the younger girl with softened eyes. He understood her fear and tried to placate her the best he could. When she was distracted talking to Himchan, he got Zelo's attention and jerked his head at Becky. "Comfort her," he mouthed to Zelo.

Zelo blinked at Yongguk but nodded his understanding. "-been afraid of the dark since I was younger..." She was saying to Himchan.

"It'll be alright, you've got us to keep you safe." Himchan puffed out his chest and Becky laughed with him.

"Thank you. That makes me feel better." Zelo slid a little closer to Becky until they were sitting shoulder to shoulder. She looked at him, surprised at the contact and he put his arm behind her so that it was around her casually but just looked like he was propping himself up...

Unconsciously, Becky leaned a little closer to Zelo and it was his turn to blush. The rest of the boys were trying to pretend that they couldn't see Becky and Zelo when they were all watching them from the corners of their eyes.

It was too dark to play their games anymore so the group had lapsed into a comfortable conversation. They were speaking Korean so Becky just sat back and listened to the banter among the boys. She could make out a few words here and there but it wasn't enough to understand the whole conversation.

Zelo was watching Becky as she watched his hyungs talking. She didn't seem to be fully understanding what they were saying so he put his lips next to her ear and whispered, "They're discussing how we will be celebrating Christmas in between shows."

Becky jumped a little at  Zelo's warm breath in her ear and felt her cheeks redden again.

The light from outside was fading quickly now and the airport was only getting darker. She scooted closer to Zelo so that their legs were pressed against each other on the floor. "Mianhae," she apologized. "It's just so dark..." She went to move away, now aware of how close she had unconsciously gotten to him.

"It's fine." Zelo tightened his arm around Becky, keeping her close to him. "You're very warm." Becky looked up at Zelo and he was looking at her too. They shared a smile and suddenly the room was filled with light.

As soon as the lights flashed back on, the intercom crackled to life with a woman's soothing voice speaking. "We're sorry for the temporary black out. The generators are up and running now. The storm has increased in severity and we're sorry to notify you but, all flights will have to be postponed until the morning. We ask that everyone remain calm and find a place to rest for the night.

"Cots, blankets, and pillows will be provided at the service desks in the main aisle. Thank you for your cooperation and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We will be dimming the lights to half power to help conserve energy. If you have any questions or concerns, please come to the front desk."

"Morning? Hyung, what can we do? We will be late!" Youngjae asked, worrying about being on time as usual.

"There is nothing we can do," Yongguk told him, patting his shoulder sympathetically. "We will be alright though. We will get to San Francisco tomorrow. For now, let us not worry about things out of our control." Yongguk had already called Manager Kang after the flight was delayed. He would take care of things so, it did the boys no good to worry.
