Chapter 3

I woke up earlier than usual this morning and went out to go sit on the balcony that's connected to my room. The sun was just rising up over the mountains and I had the perfect view of it.

Since i still had about two hours until I had to get ready for school I decided to go for a run this morning.

I went and changed into a tank top and some leggings and slipped on my running shoes before I pulled my hair up.

I grabbed my earbuds and a bottle of water before heading out the door.

I ran my usual route around the neighborhood taking me down all the streets and then back around my secret spot and of course then back home.

When I ran by Hayes house I saw Nash outside shooting basketball. He noticed me passing by and waved and I politely waved back without stoping.

There was something about running that just made me feel so good. Ever since I was little I had a huge passion for running just like my Dad. When he still had time we'd always get up early and run together but since he started working more we haven't done it forever.

After about thirty minutes I returned back home. Everyone was still sleeping. I went back upstairs to my room and took a quick shower.

I threw on a big tshirt and shorts and wrapped my hair in a towel and headed downstairs to cook breakfast for my family.

I mixed up some strawberry cheesecake muffins which were my families favorite and put them in the oven. While they were cooking I fried some bacon and cut up some fruit to sit in a bowl on the table. When it was all done I made some coffee and orange juice. Then I set the table.

I finished just in time. My family began coming into the kitchen and grabbing their breakfast. They all enjoyed it before having to get ready.

"Thank you so much for breakfast" my mom said

"No problem" I said as I headed upstairs to get ready

I dried my hair the rest of the way and then straightened it and put on my makeup. I wasn't feeling very dressy today so I threw on a long sleeve vineyards vine shirt, Nike shorts, and converse.

Matt decide to drive himself to school today so I grabbed my stuff and went ahead and left for school.

When I arrived to school I went straight to my locker to get my stuff and then went and sat in the library seeing Hayes was already here too.

"Hey" I said joining him at a table

"Oh hey" he said looking up from whatever he was doing

"What are you doing here so early?" I asked

"I got ready early today and I didn't feel like sitting at home. My parents are fighting." He says looking down

"Oh I'm sorry" I said giving him a smile

"It's ok I just need to get away from it all I guess"

"Yeah I understand. Im here for you Hayes. I mean it. I don't care if it's 2am if you need to call me do it." I said

"Thanks Kendall you're the best"

Soon the bell rang and it was time for the day to start. First period went by quickly.

Hayes,Ashley, and I all sat together in Spanish. The teacher gave us a ton of vocab words and told us that we would have a test on them Friday.

Then after a while class ended. The rest of the day went by super fast and the bell for school to end rang. I walked to my locker where hunter and I always met up.

"You are gonna have to help me study for the test I'm terrible at Spanish" he said laughing

"Ok we can have a study date or something" I said

"That'd be perfect."

I got my homework and headed out to my car.

"Ill see you later Hayes " I said as we parted ways

Shortly I arrived home. Matt was at a friends, Blakely was at ballet, my dad coaching his boys at football, and mom was at work, so I was completely home alone.  

I called Lillie and told her to come over. A few minutes later she was here. Our moms are also best friends so she already knew about my mother.

"Hey girl" I said as she walked in

We are so close that she doesn't even ring the doorbell or knock she just walks in.

"Hey. How you holding up?" She Asked

"Good." I said smiling

"Soo what's up with you and that new guy?" She asked

"Who, Hayes? Nothing we're just best friends that's all."

"Don't lie to me I can tell you like him" Lillie said

"No seriously we are just friends"

"Ok whatever you say. I think you guys would be a cute couple though"

Her saying that made me think about what it'd be like if Hayes and I were dating. I felt butterflies in my stomach just at the thought of it. There is no doubt in my mind that Hayes would be a great boyfriend.

I heard the door open and saw Matt walk in with Hayes,Nash, Cameron,Carter, and Jack following in behind him. I guess they have all became friends which is great.

"Hey guys " I said as they walked in

"Hey. The guys and I are gonna hang over here tonight for a bit. We gonna go upstairs. See ya"

"See ya." I said back kinda sadly that I couldn't hang with Hayes

We made eye contact and they all headed upstairs. Gosh those blue eyes make me weak every time.

"Ohh your mans in the house" Lillie said nudging me as soon as the boys were gone

"Oh my gosh you get on my nerves" I said rolling my eyes

Lillie and I decided to order Chinese food. We jumped in my car and went to pick it up. On the way there we jammed out to music and sang at the top of our lungs.

We picked up our food and headed back to my house. When we got there most of my family was back home.

"Hey" I said as we walked into the living room where dad was sitting reading blakely a story.

"Hey girls" my dad said

Mom was already in bed and Matt was finishing up some homework since the boys were gone.

"Can Lillie stay the night?" I asked

Even though it was a school night our parents usually still let us spend the night together.

"That's fine with me just make sure to be quiet and go to bed at a decent hour."

"Ok thank you so much dad" I said hugging him and Blakely goodnight before we headed upstairs to my bedroom

We finished up our homework and by the time we got done it was  already late so we decided to go to sleep.
