Chapter 20

"Hey babe" Hayes said as we were eating lunch on the beach

"Yeah?"

"We have a magcon thing next weekend I was wondering if you'd like to come with me?"

"Yes I'd love too!"

"Great! It's in Orlando Florida and we fly out next Tuesday"

I'm so excited to go to magcon with all the guys and meet all there fans. I've never actually been toons of the events, only heard about them from the guys and fans online.

I'm also nervous that all of the fans will hate me for being with Hayes though. I know how much they all love him.

"What of the fans don't like me?" I asked

"Kendall, they'd be stupid not to like you. You're so down to earth and gorgeous, how could they not?" He said giving me a kiss

"Thanks babe" I smiled

He can always make me feel better no matter what

"Last one to the pier is a rotten egg" he yelled as he took off running

"Hayes that's not fair!" I screamed running after him

Finally I caught up right as he made it to the pier

"Ha I beat you" he mocked

"Oh hush" I said as I hit him playfully

He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a shop along the pier

"2 pairs of roller skates please"

The boy at the counter handed him the skates as he payed and we walked outside to a nearby bench

"Hayes are you crazy?" I asked as he handed me skates

"Just put them on and trust me"

"It's been years since I've skated and..." I said but he ended up cutting me off

"Trust me"

I listened to what he said and slipped the skates on.  I watched as others skated down the pier.

He grabbed my hand a pulled me up to my feet.

If he ever let's go of my hand I'll fall hard

We skated down the pier and looked at the beautiful beach from up here. Santa Monica pier is full of so many amazing shops.

After I fell what felt like a million times we decided to grab ice cream

"Hayes today has been so fun" I says as I are my ice cream

"Good babe"

Just then my phone rang

"Hello"

"Kendall Carson is gotten worse" Maggie pretty much yelled from the other side of the phone

"Are you serious" I says as my mood dropped

"He's now on life support. He's just not holding up anymore"

I could almost hear her heart breaking along with mine.

"All the family is going over to the hospital and we wanted to invite you too cause you mean a lot to Carson and the family" she said

"Ok I'll be there soon" I replied as I hung up

Hayes looked at my with concern as he could tell I was hurting

"Hayes today has been so great and I don't want it to end but Carson has gotten worse. They are calling the family in cause they are putting him on life support." I said looking down

"Ok babe you do what you've got to do" he said to me

"Thank you for understanding" I smiled lightly

Hayes is so perfect

I grabbed my stuff and walked to my car

I quickly parented when I got to the hospital and went straight to Carsons room. It was silent when I walked in as family surround him with pain and hurt written all over their faces.

I took a seat by Maggie and she laid her head on my shoulder as I hugged her in comfort

I glanced over a Carsons lifeless body and felt the urge to throw up. It makes me sick thinking soon he could slip away from me too.

He has such a great career ahead of him. Carson just can't go.

We all sat and watched as the doctors came in and explained the machine they were hooking him up to. Then one by one they hooked him up to tons of cords and machines.

I sat and watched as my best friends life was  now counting on machines and wires.
