Chapter 16

"Hello" he said as he answered the phone

He's the first person I thought of calling after I ran out to the car and slammed the door, driving away as fast a I possibly could

Hurt is all I was feeling.

How could Hayes not tell me he found someone else?

All the times we'd text or call throughout the day he mentioned nothing of another girl. Only me and how much he missed me.

"Hey Carson"

"What's up Kendall?" He asked

"Oh well I'm not busy tonight and so I just might take up your offer on hanging out." I said

"Really? That's so great! Why don't you just come over to my place tonight and we can eat dinner over here!" He suggested

"That's great! Text me the address and I'll be over soon"

As soon as he text it to me I put it into my GPS. It was only about 15 minutes away.

I drove up a winding hill until I reached a huge gated neighborhood.

"Hello may I help you" the gate guard asked

"Um yes I here for Carson Sheldon"

"Oh yes he told me to expect you. Go ahead it's the last house on the left."

He opened the gate and I drove through. All these house were larger than I could believe.

I finally reached Carson's. His house was the biggest of them all.

I parked the car and walked to the front door ringing the doorbell. Soon he appeared.

"Hey" he said engulfing me in a hug "come in, come in"

He shut the door behind us and lead me into a huge kitchen.

"Maggie, Amelia, this is Kendall" he introduced

"Hi" I smiled shyly

I'm not usually a very shy person but this huge house and lavish life style made me feel insecure.

"Kendall, Maggie is my older sister and Amelia is our cook. Mom calls her a nanny but being older Maggie and I dislike calling her that" he said laughing

"Hello we are home" someone called interrupting us 

Carsons parents walked into the kitchen shortly after

"Ah Kendall these are my parents Charolette and Bradley Sheldon" he said

"Hello dear it's very nice to meet you." His mother said shaking my hand followed by his father.

They were both dressed so elegant and I felt very undressed compared to them.

"Will you be joining us for dinner Kendall?" Mrs.Sheldon asked

"Yes mom she will be" Carson answered for me before pulling me with him up the stairs

"Wow you parents are great" I said smiling

"Eh they are kind of embarrassing with all  their fancy things" he admitted

"My dad made all his money by being a surgeon and my mom is a doctor so that's how they met. They are almost a little too proud of their accomplishments so don't let them get to you." He explained

"Ok I won't" I smiled

"Dinners ready" Amelia soon called from down stairs.

Carson and I walked back down the winding staircase that lead into the kitchen and then straight to the dinning room.

Identical to every other room in this house, it was very gorgeously decorated.

I took a seat between Maggie and Carson.

In front of us on the table looked like a feast. More food than I'd ever had during just one meal on a day other than a holiday.

Amelia made all our plates and gave them to us.

We all began enjoying our food. It was so very delicious.

"So, Kendall how long will you be in California"  Mr.Sheldon asked

"Well as of right now I'm not really sure" I said

"Charolette and I were thinking and if you'd like to maybe permanently move to California we have another house on the coast we'd love to give you. Carson told us you were just here visiting and we thought you'd just might like to stay longer. We hardly use the house and would love for you not to leave." He said

"Oh wow that'd be amazing." I replied

"Well why don't you think about it overnight to make your defiant decision, and if you decide to stay then the house is yours."

"Thank you so much" I smiled

This family is so amazing. How I'd love to stay here in California so I could be with all the other guys along with Carson and Maggie.

Since I already do online school it wouldn't even be a problem moving down here.

So far from what I've seen I love it. Everything here is so pretty. It's a nice change from the North Carolina scenery.

After we finished I said my goodbyes.

I drove back to the guys house dreading facing Hayes. Today was so great with the Sheldon's. they made me forget all about Hayes but now the memories are back flooding my brain.

When I get home its already late and all the lights are off except for a dim light in the living room.

I unlock the door quietly closing it behind me.

"Kendall your home! I've been waiting up for you to get back." Hayes said

"Oh yeah hey Hayes"

"Look about earlier I...."

"You know what Hayes, it's fine. I've moved on."

With that I walked into my room closing and locking the door behind me.

No I haven't moved on but maybe now is the best time to.

I changed clothes and got in my bed. Before laying down to sleep I took off the necklace Hayes gave me on our first date. I swore I'd never take it off it, I guess I was wrong.
