Chapter 6

Hayes's POV

It was 3am and my mine was boggled with thoughts.

I've called Kendall 97 times and text her a ton but she won't answer me.

What I did was so stupid. I made a promise to her and I broke it by not thinking. My cousin Anna had came into town to see me and my parents were, as always, fighting and we wanted to escape it and the first thing I thought of was the spot.

Mine and Kendall's spot.

I jumped out of bed and ran down stairs to get in my car. Kendall's mother had surgery today and knowing her I know for sure she didn't leave her mothers side so I begin heading to the hospital.

When I pull in I see just what I'm looking for.

Kendall.

She was sitting up against a wall right outside the hospital doors.

I ran over to where she was and sat down beside her. We sat in complete silence until I got the guts to speak up.

"Uh hey Kendall I don't know if you've noticed but I um I've tried calling and texting you."

"oh really I didn't even notice" she said quietly but still very full of her sassy attitude that drives me crazy

"Look I'm sorry. My cousin Anna was over and my parents started fighting and I...."

"Just stop Hayes it doesn't matter. I guess I was stupid to trust you anyway."

The last thing she said hit me harder than anything. She regrets trusting me.

"no no no it's not like that please"

"Look I've got enough going on right now with my mom and I can't deal with this right now"

She got up and began to walk towards the door

"Kendall. I need you."

As I said those words she fell to the ground as tears rained down from her eyes. For the first time I heard her yell

"I need you too but how can I need you when I don't even know that I can even trust you. My mom may not wake up the same, if ever. Don't you understand that!"

I ran to her and pulled her into my arms. To my surprise she didn't pull away or resist, she simply cried as I held what felt as her lifeless body.

"Please just trust me again" I whispered

Next thing I know nurses rushed out the front searching for Kendall.

She ripped away from my grip and ran inside as I followed behind her.

We made it up to her moms floor and Kendall along with all her family went in the room along with tons of doctors and nurses following behind her. They slammed the door in my face.
I slid down the walk beside the room and just waited. Im not leaving Kendall. Not now, or ever.
