A handful of terror
instilled in your eyes
while your tongue slips out serpentine
and utters something about love.
Baby, did you forget...
Hallucinating, dreaming,
feeling, thinking
in a world baring platinum blonde skies.
Needle's point rolling underhand
I hear the clank of your teeth
as you clamp down
on transparent plastic.
Baby, baby...
your stars look down and scream at you
crying out for some sort
of fragmented salvation.
Weep into your wine
your lips taste like salt and sin
hands all over
causing bruises under your skin.
Did you forget...
midnight sacrifice
slaughtered at the altar of your dreams
did you forget?
You can hear the screams
in your ear
though words remain still
pilgrim's touch to a God who sneers down upon you.
Baby...
you cannot sit still
...did you...
see your skin crawling with worms
...forget...
the horror inside--did you forget
...to take your meds?
