Katie's POV
I needed to play in tonight's game so I had Niki take my to the hospital to check out my wrist which was luckily only sprained well it was only twisted until Joan made it worse that is. The doctor wrapped my wrist with a thick blue bandage telling me if I wore it I could play as long as I made sure to take it easy I agreed just needing to release my pain into something productive. I showed up early and told coach the good news just in time for him to put me in the game. I changed into my uniform checking the stands I saw Bryant and waved before heading out to the field taking position. My mind swirled on every word of my conversation with Joan as my bat connected with its target as the game came to an end and cheering filled the field I imagined what it would be like if I had an actual loving household but that was one dream I knew would never come true.
