I walked back home and before I could answer the door, mom had opened it.
She was putting on her jacket. I looked down and noticed her purse.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Going to the store."
I raised an eyebrow. "But-"
Jonathan came out of nowhere and had place his hand on my mom's shoulders. "No worry, Drusilla. I'm going with her."
I didn't wont this. I was worried.
"Sweetie, I'll be okay. If something happens, then I'll call you," she said.
I sighed. "Okay. Just call me when you get there and leave."
Her hand touched my chin. "Okay, mom."
I smiled because I was acting like one. Mom kissed my cheek and they walked passed me and Jonathan stop and looked at me and said. "I'll protect her."
I nodded. "Be safe."
"We will." With that, he had walked off.
I turned my head and watched as they were getting into the car. They back up and left.
I was nervous.
I walked into the house and had closed the door and as I turned around I scream.
Kathy started to laugh because she had scared me. She had a scary mask on and I was breathing hard.
"Oh my gosh, Kathy." I held my hand to to my chest.
"Sorry." She took off the mask.
"That was pretty good," I said.
"Thank you." She bow her head down.
We walked into the kitchen.
"So, why they going to the store?" I asked.
"More candy."
I sat down on the chair that was in front of the counter. I grab a piece of candy.
"You was at Spike's again?" Kathy asked.
I nodded. "Yeah."
Did I want to tell her about Spike and I sleeping together, or should I just keep that to myself.
"Are y'all like a thing?" She wondered.
She was being alittle nervous. She grab a piece of candy from the bowl and unwrapped it.
"Yup." I put the chocolate in my mouth and I looked at her weird and said. "You okay?"
She shook her head yes. "Yes, of course."
"You're acting weird."
She grab another piece of candy and back up, leaving the kitchen. I followed her behind.
"I'm not acting weird," she said.
"Yes you are. You left the kitchen and walked away, telling me you were okay, but clearly you aren't. Kathy, you're not telling me something."
"I'm not hiding nothing." She fast speed, but she didn't go to the living room. She went down the hallway. I stop and back up, deciding to go the other way. I ran down the other hall, making a left turned. She ran into me.
"H-How. Where did you come from?" She was pointing her fingers everywhere.
"I know my house from heart. So, tell me. What is wrong with you," I said.
"I'm scared to tell you because I'm scared you're going to laugh at me."
I raised an eyebrow and place my hand on my hip. "Kathy, I'm not. Plus, if it makes you feel better, I'll tell you something that I'm afraid to say." I couldn't believe I was going to say this.
She sighed. "Okay. You tell me first and I'll tell you mine."
I didn't wont that.
"Okay."
We walked to the living room and sat on the couch. We looked at each other.
I took a deep breath. "You remember when I went to Spike's crypt to tell him thank you for what he did?"
She nodded.
"Well, I told him that and well, he was saying that he would never change who he was and that he promised he wouldn't hurt my friends and then out nowhere we kissed-"
She smiled. "Aw, that's sweet." She reached for a candy that was also on the table. She unwrapped it and was placing it in her mouth.
"And then we had sex."
She split the chocolate ball out and it went across the room. "Oh my gosh, Drusilla." She was coughing.
I didn't say anything.
"You and him, y'all." She was saying weird words. "Don't tell me that's why you were gone for a long period of time just a minute ago."
I just looked at her.
"You did, didn't you?" She lean back on the chair and couldn't believe it.
"Please don't tell my mom or anyone else."
She looked at me and lean back up. "I promise."
I smiled. "Thank you. So, what is your problem?"
"Jonathan and I are going out."
I just looked at her.
"How do you feel about that?" She wondered.
"When did y'all start going out?" I asked.
"Yesterday."
I took her hand. "I'm happy for y'all two."
"Thank you. I really like him and he likes me too and I feel like Jonathan and I will stay together forever."
Tears came to my eyes and I thought of Jackson.
Those words that Kathy had said made me think of the time when Eve and I were up in my room, talking and telling deep secrets.
I told her that I had liked him very much and this was when Jackson and I were dating. I told Eve that I feel like we would stay together forever.
Kathy came up to me and wrap her hands around me. "It's okay."
I didn't say anything
Later the night, mom and Jonathan had came back. Mom was in the kitchen, making dinner, while Kathy, Jonathan and I were in the living room, watching scary movies.
We were watching Freddie Krueger
"I never did like this movie," Kathy said.
And with that, Jonathan had grab her hand. "Why, are you scared?"
"Oh course not. I'm a slayer," she said.
I looked at them and with that, Jonathan let go of Kathy's hand.
"When she didn't know she was a slayer, she was. And just to let you know, I know about y'all two"
Jonathan looked at Kathy and then back at me. "you do?"
"Yes."
Jonathan looked at Kathy. "Is she okay with it?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Why would you think that I'm not okay with it? I'm happy for y'all two."
They both smiled.
"I guess because of Eve and I," he said.
Kathy looked at him. "Did y'all like each other?"
Jonathan got alittle nervous.
"I liked her, but she was all for Jackson. But you have nothing to worry about because I don't like her anything. I like you, Kathy."
Kathy smiled. "Glad to hear that."
I got up. "Well, if y'all excuse me for a second, I'm going into the kitchen to get us more drinks." I grab the three cups in till Jonathan got up. "Let me help."
I looked at Kathy and smiled. Kathy smiled and rolled her eyes. Jonathan grab two cups and we both went into the kitchen. Mom was sitting in the dinning room, looking at newspaper.
"You know you didn't have too," I told him.
"I know, but I have to ask you a question."
"What is it?" I asked.
"I want to take Kathy on a date, but I don't know what would be romantic. Could you help me?" He begged.
"A picnic in the cemetery would be romantic. You'll get to see her fight vampires and while you're eating a subway," I said as smiling.
He gave me a weird look. "I'm serious, Drusilla."
"Okay, okay. How about a drive in? Those are romantic," I said.
"But what if something happens?" He asked being nervous.
I rolled my eyes. "Jonathan, she is a slayer, so you'll be okay."
He agreed. "Yeah, you're right."
I grab the tea and poured some in our cups and Jonathan and I started to walk, but I stop.
"You go. I'm going to talk to mom."
Jonathan walked off and I headed to the table.
"Hi."
She looked up at me. "Hey, sweetie."
"May I?" I asked.
She nodded. "Of course."
I sat down and sat my tea next to me. I grab a new paper and was looking through it. "Found anything interesting?"
"No. Well, just a family finding there puppy."
I smiled. I turned the next page and a piece was cut out. "Why is this cut out?"
She looked. "I don't know." She grab the paper and held it up to her face, to where I could see her face through the newspaper.
"Well that's weird," I said.
she agreed.
I got up from my seat and walked off.
