Lia's POV
Scared. Fear is what had taken over my body the day of my wedding. My mother woke me, and forced me to eat, but nothing could calm my stomach down. I toyed with my nails, and would try to engage in conversation with my friends and moms and grandma. I smiled as Lailah sat by my feet, pacifier in her mouth. I watched as my stylist Alicia hired carefully did my hair. It had soft curls alllll the way at the end and she did a middle part. She tucked the front behind my ear and they carefully applied my makeup. My mom ran over the details over, and over again.. the orders.. the lay out of what will happen.. the wedding in general. I nodded every time she said something and then we made our way to the other room. My grandmas helped me into my gown and my mom zippered me up. I was facing her, and my grandma put the veil in my hair. My mom covered her mouth and her eyes watered up."Look at you.." she whispered. I slowly turned around, and the photographers and all my friends caught every moment of it. Despite how terrified I looked, my eyes gleamed. My face was radiating. I looked... happy.
"Wow... that's me.." i whispered, carefully touching the mirror. My grandmothers came and went over the list with me.
"Something old.." Lilliana whispered, putting a bracelet on my arm.
"Something new..." Mama J said, placing a new ring on my finger.
"Something borrowed..." my mom said, fixing her veil on my head
"and something blue." Alicia said, putting some light blue earring on my ear. I bit my lip and took a deep breath. I heard a knock on the door, and my mom opened it. My dad stepped in, and tears formed in his eyes.
"oh dad no.." I said wiping his face. I had never seen my dad cry.. well ever.
"Look at my little baby.." he said. Everyone made their way out and down to their spots outside their venue. My dad and I slowly made our way down the hall, meeting up with Johnson. Johnson's reaction matched my dads.
"look at my baby sister..." he said smiling. He hugged me and I tried not crying. Johnson grabbed the bottom of my dress, and helped me down the stairs. I made sure to move slowly, so the photographer could do his job. Everyone got in their spots and Johnson kissed my head
"you got this kid.." he said before walking inside. I watched as everyone slowly walked in. On cue, Turning page, by sleeping at last started playing. We chose this instead of here comes the bride. We watched from down the hall as everyone walked in.
"Don't let me fall dad.." I whispered.
"Wouldn't dream of it baby.." he said. The doors closed after the last pair went down... then when the singer said "your love is my turning page". Everyone stood up, and turned to where I was. I didn't look at anyone, but Jack. His eyes had tears in them, simply at the sight of me. My dad and I began walking down the aisle, slowly. By the end of the song, we were at the end of the aisle. My dad slowly uncovered my face and kissed my head, and everyone had a seat. I looked over at the priest and he smiled at us.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here in the sight of God, and in the presence of family and friends to join together this man and this woman in Holy Matrimony which is commended of St. Paul to be an honorable estate, instituted of God and therefore is not to be entered into unadvisedly or carelessly, but reverently, joyfully and in the love of God. Into this holy estate these two persons present come now to be joined.... Who gives this bride to this Groom in marriage?" he asked. I looked over at my dad, and he again, had tears in his eyes.
"I do.." he said. He carefully took my hand, and placed it in Jacks.
"Take care of my little girl.." he said. Jack smiled and nodded.
