Hunter's POV
So today is my day with Jinx. Ace will be working with the gang all day today so I get Jinx all to myself to catch up on.
"Hey Jinx. We're going to go somewhere that's a surprise." I smiled. She nodded looking tired.
We got in the car and I turned on the radio. I drove as fast as I could to the secret location.
I parked in the driveway and turned towards her.
"We're here." I said. She looked at me then got out very slowly. She slowly walked up to the front doorstep and paused. She looked at the place before entering; taking in everything that has happened in the past.
Our old house; the one she was about to drop me off before the call. The one that she kept getting kicked out of by mother. The one she hated.
"Why are we here?" She spat.
"I wanted you to see something." I said leading her to our parent's bedroom.
She looked around and instantly spotted it. A note left by dad to her. He told me in my own note to bring her to the house on this very day at this very time. He wanted her to wait till she saw the note. "It's a note left by dad for you sis. Read it." I smiled.
Jinx's POV
I picked up the note, and opened it.
'Jinx,
Trust me I knew something like this was going to happen at some point; me getting killed by a whole gang. So that's why each time I went out I wrote you and your brother a note. Just to be safe. I didn't want to leave this world without having a note for my babies.
Trust me when I tell you this Jinx, but your mother was wrong. You are worthy to find someone. I hated seeing you grow up only talking to me and your brother. I hated seeing you force your brother to keep you a secret from his friends for his own safety. I love how protective you are over him, and I know you'll stay that way.
I want you to know I love you more than anything. You are special. I know you don't let people get to you, and I especially know you hate everyone and everything except your brother and I. I am honoured for you loving me. Keep protecting your brother. I know for sure he is in danger.
Keep me in your heart babygirl. Just know that your mother was terrible to you, and I know you didn't want anyone to stand up for you when you do it yourself all the time. I'm just proud of you for not killing her. You are very strong, and independent. I love you babygirl.
If you want to read the other notes they're in the cabinet under the sink.
Dad'
I finished reading the note. I ran into the kitchen and looked through the cabinet under the sink.
"What are you doing?!?!?" Hunter asked worried. I finally found them and pulled them out. There must've been one for every day of the year or more. He really did write one every time he left the house.
"Let's go home." I said blankly holding all of the notes. Hunter nodded his head, and we went home.
When I got home I went straight to my room and put the notes in a jar. Then I decorated the jar and put the jar on my bedside table. I looked at the jar full of notes.
Flashback
"Dad are you going to practice fighting with me now?" I asked. Dad said he'd help me get better at fighting by sparing with me.
"Yes squirt, but since you're only 5 years old I have to go easy." He laughed. I just looked at him.
"If you go easy on me dad I'll just have to break one of your bones." I challenged.
He looked at me and smirked.
"You're going down squirt." He laughed. I rolled my eyes and got into my stance to fight. I started looking for any of his weaknesses, and found him twitch his right foot ready to kick me. I swiftly hooked his leg and brought him to the ground and pinned him.
"Looks like I took you down instead dad." I said. He laughed as he got up.
"I guess you did squirt." He said as he hugged me.
End of flashback
I though back to the days I would practice fighting with my dad. Those were the days. When mom would leave for the day and I could just practice fighting with dad till she came home, and I could spare with Hunter. That was when I felt at home.
Flashback
Tonight was the night I've been preparing for ever since I was 5 years old; my first legit fight with someone. I had just gotten my license, so my dad had gotten me the bike I've always wanted. I hopped on my bike and went to a club called 'the Underground'. It's grand opening is today, and that's why I plan on making a name for myself there and become the undefeated champ since day one.
My dad and I had practiced so much that I made up my own finisher; Jinxed. It was a move made to put you in a state of unconsciousness. I spent 4 years perfecting it.
I got to the club and walked in. No girl has ever fought before so I had to disguise myself. I went to the locker rooms and changed into baggy clothes; not my favourite type of clothes, but it's whatever. I put my hair up in a messy bun and wrapped my chest so it looked like I had a flat chest.
After I finished getting changed I went out to sign up.
"Hey man, what's your name?" Someone asked. I just finished writing my name, and showed them the sign up sheet.
"Jinx huh? Sounds like a dope name. Good luck out there inferno. Be careful of Bone-crusher you hear? He's coming from a different club called 'the Forbidden' and I hear he is known to kill or just crush your bones hence the name." He said as I nodded and walked towards a booth.
"OKAY EVERYONE GET READY TO SEE A CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT!!" The announcer roared while everyone cheered.
"IN THIS CORNER WE HAVE THE BONE-CRUSHER!!!" He roared. Everyone cheered louder than ever.
"AND IN THIS CORNER WE HAVE JINX!!!" He screamed. Everyone cheered again, but not as much as they did with Bone-crusher.
I got in the ring and looked at the guy.
"You're going down motherfucker." He laughed as I rolled my eyes. We got in position.
*RING*
I looked for his weakness and found him limping on his left foot. That's where to aim. I swiftly kicked him in his left leg, and punched him right in the nose feeling it break against my knuckles. He stumbled back and I took my chance to bring his ass to the floor. A 16 year old girl brought him down in seconds. That's sad. I got back into my fighting stance ready for him to get up.
He looked up at me and started getting up. He was half way up when I pretzeled him. Seconds later he passed out. He just got Jinxed. I got up and dusted myself off and looked around at everyone cheering for me. I had won the championship.
"THE WINNER IS JINX!!!!!"
End of flashback
I remembered what my dad helped me to accomplish. My first championship. Without him I wouldn't have won. That day when I went home to tell dad he celebrated with me.
I wish I could have those days back.
