Left Alone

Ross stared at the clock as he held a sleeping Rachel in his arms. He couldn't bare to tell her that he was leaving so he just held her and told her everything would be fine. But it wouldn't. He slyly untangled himself from her and she moaned a little and rolled back over not waking up. He looked at her once more and lightly kissed her on the lips before getting dressed and writing her a note. He quietly snuck out of the room leaving her there. He knew it would hurt her but he had to do it.

Rachel woke up and felt around to find Ross and realized he wasn't there and quickly shot up.

"no no no." she whispered and looked around when she found the note lying on the pillow that read,

Dear Rach, I'm so sorry I broke my promise and left you. Its just I don't have any other option. I'm with Emily and I hope you didn't expect me to stay. You'll always be mine, forever and always. I love you so much baby. Leaving you this morning was the hardest thing I've ever done. If it were simple I would crawl right back to you because I love you, I do. But unfortunately I'm leaving for London by the time you read this. I hope you find someone that treats you the way you should be treated one day. I love you so much. ~ Ross

Rachel read it over and over again and the tears began to flow. She burst into sobs and wrinkled the paper up throwing it to ground sobbing.

"I hate you so much Ross!" she yelled. Her whole purpose of living had just left her after that night they shared. She quickly reached for her phone and dialed his number.

"Hello?"

"Rossdontleaveme." she sobbed into the phone and Ross couldn't understand.

"Rachel, I'm sorry just calm down." Ross tried to reason.

"NO! Ross come back! I need you!" she was crying and yelling at him into the phone and she was sure the neighbors could hear. "I need you! Please!"

Ross started to tear up as he listened to her pleas and how upset she seemed. He sat down and tried to hold back the tears.

"Rach, listen.. I'm not coming back."

There was a slight pause that was interrupted by Rachel crying again which led to her just hanging up. She gathered up her clothes and headed back to her place with Monica.

She stormed into the apartment and found the rest of them there.

"Rachel? I thought you left?" Chandler asked from the couch.

"I was about to.. But then Ross came for me and I stayed with him last night." Rachel said wiping her tears away.

Phoebe immediately became excited. "oooh! Did you? I mean is this what I think it is?"

"Well we slept together and then.." Rachel couldn't finish the rest of her sentence and sat down crying. Monica came over to her and rubbed her back comforting her.

"sweetie, what happened?" Monica asked

"He left. He went to London."

The rest of the group gasped and gave her sorrowful faces.

"Have you ever been so in love with someone that you would give up your life for them? You would do anything for them and they're all you think about. They make you feel so beautiful and make every day worth living." Rachel began to smile as she thought about her and Ross

"You literally live life for that person. You can't help but love them with all you're heart and you can't manage to live without them. Well that's how I feel about Ross. He's everything to me and I can't go on without him guys."

Joey came over to her and hugged her. "it'll be hard Rach, but you'll get through it."

"No. I can't live every day of my life like this. I can't." she said staring into space and went into her room without saying another word.

She was about to make the worst mistake and no one even knew.

Meanwhile at the airport Ross was waiting for his flight and a million things were going through his mind. Emily or Rachel. Emily, your wife. Or Rachel, the girl you've been in love with forever. He broke down everytime he thought of Rachel and how he had left her. He loved her so much it hurt. He had to have her. She was his and no one else deserved her. He decided to go get her after all and fled the airport.

At Monica's the gang decided to give Rachel her space and leave her alone in her room to think. She had been in there for about and hour and no one had heard a sound from her room. Ross suddenly burst through the door out of breath.

"Where is she?" he asked leaning on the table.

"who?"

"the love of my life, the girl I want to be with forever, and the only one for me where is she."

Monica pointed to her room and he ran over to it and tried to open the door.

"it's locked." he said confused shaking the knob.

"Rach, it's me! I'm so sorry, baby I'm here. I love you please open up so I can kiss you properly." he half chuckled just excited to see her face but no response.

"are you sure she's in here?" he asked pointing to the door and everyone nodded yes.

He knocked again, "Rach, I know you might be mad but you're starting to worry me."

"How long was she in here!?" Ross asked fearing the worst

"about and hour or so, we just tried to give her some space. She was crushed when you left." chandler explained.

"dammit." Ross whispered. "sweetie, open up!"

Ross finally gave up and decided to break in. "guys we have to get in there, something wrong." Ross said in a shaky voice.

Joey and Chandler came over and helped him break down the door.

"Rachel! Rachel?" Ross yelled looking around the room and spotted her lying in the corner of the room unconscious.

He shook her shoulders and tried to wake her. "Rachel, wake up. I'm here." he said behind tears.

He kissed her and waited but she didn't budge. He knelt down and listened for her breathing and barely heard anything.

"Fuck, she's hardly breathing!" he pumped his hands across her chest trying to get her heart to start up and listened again.

He turned to everyone else who was in shock desperately "she's not breathing! Are you just going to stand there!?" he yelled at the top of his lungs an returned his attention to her.

He kept trying to get her heartbeat up while Monica called 911.

"dammit, Rach you have to be okay." he whispered. "YOU HAVE TO BE. I need you. I need you more than anyone." he began to cry and Monica returned.

"They're on their way Ross."

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT." Ross screamed. "You may have just taken the most important thing in my life away from me." He looked back at Rachel and picked her up.

He started carrying her out of the apartment when the paramedics arrived.

"sir, we'll take care of her." one of them said and tried to take Rachel from Ross.

They got her situated and had to keep bringing her back to life the whole way to the hospital. Ross suddenly felt dizzy and blacked out.

Ross woke up and was laying on the couch at Monicas. He immidiatly jumped up and headed for the door.

"Why is everyone here!? We have to go be with her!" Ross blurted out opening the door.

"Ross, honey.." Monica said calmly with tears in her eyes. "Rachel's gone."
