Chapter 1: Throwback

           

"I'm begging you, please. Don't kill me!" yelled the man who is nearly unconscious. His face is already swollen from all the punching. His lips and mouth are bleeding while both of his arms are already broken. He doesn't even have the strength to get up because her feet is tied up.

A smile formed in Rune Crawford's lips as he stares down at the man. He is actually the leader of a dangerous gang in Italy. Rune can't even recall he can't recognize him anymore. The most fearful gang leader has turned into a scared mouse. He believed that his name is Serio.

"You want me to spear your life?" He softly chanted but his voice holds darkness.

Serio nodded in response "Yes. Please, I'm begging you! I will never get in your way again, Sir Rune...please" He was already crying.

Rune laughed bitterly. "You know my name?"

Serio gulped nervously. Sweats rolled down from his forehead.

"And how did you know my real name?"

Serio can't answer him. He was too scared to even answer.

Rune looked at his wrist watch before drawing out his gun without looking at Serio who is now at shock. "Okay, I will give you a choice...first choice: I will throw your body at the river; Second choice: I will send my bullet right through your head and last choice: I will tie you up tightly by a robe and placed a timer bomb here. You pick."

There is no way he will let the enemies know his real name. Because that means, they already did a major background check on him. Rune loaded his gun and acted so cool as he pointed it once again in his forehead. "Okay, times up! I will just blow up your brains."

"That's enough, Red." A low voice spoke, interrupting all the fun.

Rune was his codename in the agency.

Rune cursed silently when he heard his boss' name. "Chief." He greeted him, placing his gun back to its pocket. "You interrupted me again." He groaned, crossing his arms.

The Chief smiled, he was followed by a group of uniformed men. They quickly took Serio and carried his body. "We are going to take him back to the headquarters and squeeze some answers from him." He explained, using his fingers to signal the men to take Serio away.

"How about his men?" Rune asked, looking around. They are surrounded by dead or unconscious bodies of Serio's gang where he fought a few minutes ago.

"Burn this warehouse down. It's a lot of work if we all bury them one by one." Chief said, smiling and placed his hands back inside the pockets of his jacket.

They were about to leave the abandoned warehouse when the Chief stopped Rune from his tracks towards his motorcycle. "Rune, Mr. Waylord called earlier in the office. He wants to talk to you."

Mr. Waylord. It stands for Ryan Waylords. The Mayor of Crimson City where he used to live. Rune used to serve him when he was younger because he owe his life to the old man. He wouldn't be alive anymore if it wasn't for him. He treated him like his own father. But it's been four years since they last talked. His call must be really important.

Rune hoped in his motorbike and headed off towards their headquarters. It's an underground restricted area and only agents can get in. Before he could get into the way towards their headquarters, he needs to pass the restricted zone of the jungle. Of course, it's only a fake sigh so that people would not get in. When you passed through the jungle of tall and scary trees, you will see a huge cave where seven men are standing on guard.

Rune showed them his ID and got in. The underground way was taking so long so he increased his speed. When he reached the parking lot, he got off and head towards the entrance.
