Chapter 8: Inn and New People

Jane had prepared us lunch but like always, I didn't joined them. They ate together but I just locked myself in my room. I'm not going to act so nice and friendly with them. Jay has been reaching out to me by asking me to bring some food in my room but I told him that I'm not in the mood.

I left my phone behind so I don't have anything to keep myself entertained.

I was just sitting by the window, in this view, you can see how high this village is. The fog is thick knowing how cold it is up here. There are many threes surrounding this place keeping it really hidden and hard to find.

It is getting dark as the sun is setting. Honestly, you can't even see the sun from here. The whole place looks like it is surrounded by clouds.

The door of the bedroom suddenly opened causing me to flinch. Wait, I locked that! Rune came in and closing it again behind him. He doesn't look happy nor he doesn't also look angry.

"Get dressed."

"Dressed? For what?"

"We are jointing the little gathering at the inn." He informed me. "They are throwing us some welcome party so we could know everyone in the village."

"No thanks." I averted my eyes back to the window.

Rune scoffed and grabbed my arm causing me to squeal, taking me away from the window.

"What the fuck—"

"Get dressed." He pushing me to the closet. He is a little harsh on me right now because he knows that Dad is not around.

"What if I don't want to?" I arched my brow.

"Then I will be forced to dress you myself." He shot me a soft glare. "And don't make me do that if you don't want me to."

Groaning, I raised my hands. "Fine. If that will shut you up." I opened the closet drawers and looked for something to wear. "What kind of a party are we going to?"

"Just a simple gathering. You don't have to dress up to pretty so wipe that thick cosmetics on your face." He told me, pointing around my face before leaving the room.

I rolled my eyes and scan through the clothes and none of them passed my taste. But I have to work on it so I just did a lot of examining and checked them all.

I ended up wearing a simple red camisole and slim denim jeans then my white converse. To irritate Rune more, I put a lot of makeup. He's not the boss of me.

Leaving the room, it seems that they are just waiting for me. I even caught Jane arranging Rune's white shirt and I don't see anything wrong with it so maybe she just wants to touch him and act like so clingy with him. Jay was combing his hair as he noticed me.

"There she is. Let's go now." Jay grinned at me as I caught up with them. "You look naturally pretty, Jasmine. I'm impressed. Men in this village surely will be attracted to you."

I just wrinkled my nose at him as we left the house. It seems like that we are only walking towards the inn.

"That is not going to happen since she is going to act as my wife." Rune stated as we pass through the side walk. There aren't any cars on the road so it is perfectly quiet.

I walked fast among them as I spoke. "Oh yeah? Jay, you should have just introduced me as your wife and Rune is Jane's husband because they were just in each other's throat this morning."
