juliet sat in her large and quiet house, and she sketched. her mind aimlessly sketched her inner thoughts and frustration onto the manila-colored paper. she was frustrated at how her last conversation with bucky had went earlier tonight. she still couldn't wrap her mind around the fact that pretty soon, the only person she'll have left is steve.

her mind drifted off as she subconsciously sketched her heart out onto the paper. juliet was abruptly pulled out her thoughts when a loud knock resonated throughout the house. she ignored it, hoping it wasn't important, yet the knock sounded again, this time more rapidly and urgently.

juliet curiously exited her painting room, and approached the large, front door. she ran a hand through her long, black hair, then pulled the door open. she was elated but taken aback to see none other than bucky standing there, still in his uniform, and with a guilt-ridden look on his face.

"juliet, listen—" bucky desperately started, but he was immediately interrupted by juliet.

"it's fine, bucky." she sighed.

"no, it's not, because what i said and did wasn't right, and that was a real dick move on my part. it's just... seeing you with stark, i just got this unexplainable feeling, and i-i don't know what came over me. just know that i'm really sorry." he continued, though he was confused at juliet's immediate forgiveness.

"honestly, bucky, i'm over it."

"why? you should be angry at me. hell, you shouldn't even be talking to me right now." he states in confusion.

"bucky! it's your last night. i don't wanna spend it fighting." she tiredly said, her heart clenching when she, once again, remembered that this could be the last time that she would see bucky.

realization dawned on bucky, and he looked down in sadness as well. he slowly entered the familiar house, and shut the door before wrapping his arms around her small frame. he then rested his chin on top of her head. they stood in that comfortable position for a while, until bucky broke the silence, and spoke.

"i broke things off with connie right after you left the expo."

juliet pulled away in shock and in slight glee. "what? why? you two were so happy."

"but you weren't. and you're my best girl, juliet. in the end, you and steve will always come first."

juliet could finally feel the long-awaited tears cascade down her cheeks. she started to blink rapidly to stop them, but they still came out. she wrapped her arms around bucky once more and buried her face into his solid chest, and sobbed. "i'm gonna miss you so much, buck." she sobbed.

"juliet." bucky stated painfully. he hated seeing her cry, and this wasn't making it any easier on him.

"i can't help it. you've been my rock for a solid fifteen years, and now... now there's a chance you won't even come back, and i lo—"

"i will come back. don't give up on me so quick, juliet." he joked lightly, while soothingly cupping her face in his hands. his blue eyes looked into her hazel ones, and he lightly wiped away the tears that were still cascading down her cheeks. "i'll be back before you know it. now enough with this depressing talk. this is my last night— let's make this a memorable one."

note. okay so u probably won't see much of bucky in the next few chapters, bc this story follows juliet, and it's from her perspective. you will see him before he falls off the train though, i can assure you. anyway, in case anyone was confused, this takes place right after bucky and steve say their good-bye's at the expo. remember how right after bucky leaves, he goes dancing with connie and bonnie? well, in this story, he goes with them, but he breaks things off w/ connie, and he comes to juliet's house to apologize and spend a memorable night with her. so while this whole chapter is happening w/ bucky and juliet, steve is out there, being approved of by dr. erskine. this story isn't really from steve's perspective, it's from juliet's. remember that !! also just a btw, bucky and juliet are NOT together. they obviously care for each other so so much, but they haven't acknowledged their feelings for each other, because they haven't realized that they have feelings for each other. the only people who have spotted that they like each other were steve, howard, juliet's dad (wink wonk), & pretty much anyone w/ eyes lmaoo. but okay, just as clarification, bucky and juliet DO love each other and care for each other deeply, but they're both blind and don't acknowledge their's or the other's feelings. but yeah, i hope u guys liked this little, original chapter !! the next chapter will be up either later today or tmrw, and the story will progress even more and i'm super excited !! pls pls pls vote & comment guys, there are only like two loyal commenters, and i need to know how this story is doing. thank u luv u !!
