A couple weeks have passed and she didn't know how she was still alive, but she was. She was thankful for that at least, she didn't want to die knowing she still have nine things still left on her list. She knew most likely that at least two items would remain and that was her virginity, she wouldn't want someone who only took pity on her to take her virginity; no matter how much she like Alex. She also wouldn't let Alex marry her, because that was something that should be shared by two people in love and that was something she made Alex promise not to do and he promised he wouldn't.
As if he felt her thinking about her, he came into her room with a smile on his face. He was dressed in civilian clothes which she'd only seen once before. He was wearing the watch she had made Mason purchase for him in light of passing his tests to become a surgical resident, "the infection is gone completely and I talked to Derek about resuming your list."
"Oh! That's awesome." Cassandra said smiling up at Alex, he came closer to her bed and looked down at her.
"So I was thinking. I know a guy who can help you with the get a tattoo item on your list. He can't come here, but he offered to go to Meredith's house. I was supposed to go over for Thanksgiving anyways. So I figured we could go."
"Where are you going?" Cassandra groaned when she heard her mother's voice, that Latina accent thick and looked towards the door to see her parents walking in.
"What are you doing here?"
"It's Thanksgiving, Cassandra. I'd figured you'd want us here. Also thank you for the news of you being in the hospital. When we got home and found Mason alone, he was the one who told us."
"I didn't want you to know. But if you'd like to know, Alex is taking me to Meredith's for Thanksgiving dinner."
"I don't think it's wise to leave the hospital. You're sick." her father said
"I've been sick for four years and suddenly you care?"
"We aren't as terrible as you like to believe." her mother said hatefully.
"I beg to differ. But really you don't get to control what I do. Derek said it was fine, Alex got permission."
"I did. I was gonna send Izzie in to help you get dressed and then we can go."
"Great. I'll be ready soon."
"I invited Mason. He's supposed to meet us there." Alex didn't care that her parents were in the room, or maybe he did it because he wanted to annoy them. But he kissed her on the lips before leaving the room. Izzie came in.
"Can you leave now. You aren't welcome here."
"Cassandra! We are you parents, for Christ sake." her father said, looking over at his daughter astounded.
"Since when? If you don't leave, I will ask Izzie to call security."
"Let's go, Franklin." they both left. Izzie closed the door and looked over at Cassandra.
"Not a word." Cassandra said, getting out of bed. She saw Izzie nod and go over to the small closet that held minimal clothes. She walked over to the closet slowly, "what do you think I should wear?"
"Where is the tattoo you want going to go?" Cassandra raised her pointed to her bare thigh once she lifted her pajama bottoms on, "then no jeans." she handed Cassandra a blue dress and picked out some black over-the-knee boots to do with it. She got dressed with the help of Izzie and sat down on the bed out of breath while Izzie helped her with the boots. She watched as Izzie got her hair brush and handed it to her. She brushed her tangled hair and stopped when she heard a knock on the door. She stood and watched as Alex came into the room.
