Cassandra got ready for the party at Meredith's, she had the woman's help picking out the perfect outfit. It was something the brunette would be comfortable in, with the help of Meredith she had spanks on underneath the short skirt she wore.
They walked downstairs when they heard the music begin to play, the house was full of people that worked at the hospital. Cassandra found Alex and walked over to the male that had helped her so much in the two months they've known each other.
"You ready for this?" Alex asked her, taking the brunettes hand and leading her into the kitchen. On the counter was a collection of different liquors and a three trays full of jell-o shots. She smiled and kissed Alex on the cheek.
"Thanks for all this." Cassandra said, Alex handed her a jell-o shot and she moved her finger around the rim of the jell-o shot and then took it. She looked over at Alex, "I could see these being dangerous simply for the fact you can't really taste the alcohol in it." Cassandra grabbed another before kissing Alex on the lips briefly before pulling him away from the kitchen and into the living room where people were dancing. She moved into him and guided her hips to the beat of the music.
"I'm not much of a dancer." Alex said, trying to pull away from Cassandra.
"Tonight you are." the girl was beginning to look sicker and Alex knew that she was getting worse. He wanted to plead with her to fight just a bit longer, that he wanted more time with her. But he didn't have a right to do that, nor would he ever. He wouldn't admit to anyone, not even himself sometimes that he was falling in love with Cassandra Manning, "Alex, you good?" she asked, he nodded confirming.
"If you expect to be drunk, you're going to need to drink more." Cassandra smiled and looked over at George who was smiling at her.
"Let's take shots with all my favorite people!" she said moving away from Alex. She gathered the people in the kitchen, "all right. I want to take a shot with all my favorite people." she poured vodka into the shot glasses on the counter, "to my brother, the only person I've been able to count on. To Alex, for taking time out of his life to do these last ten things for me. To Izzie and Meredith for helping me with getting dressed all the time. To George for providing me with a laugh, whenever I meant it. Then finally to Cristina who isn't drinking because she's on call so this is for me too." they all raised their shot glasses and took the drink quickly, Cassandra took the second one and smiled at Alex. He pulled her into his body.
Many drinks later Cassandra felt like she was drunk enough and pulled out her cell phone.
"Drunk dials aren't normally smart." Alex said, taking her phone. He stopped drinking awhile ago to keep an eye on Cassandra. The brown eyed girl looked into his eyes.
"If I don't do this drunk, I'm never going to have the balls do it." Alex gave it back and watched as Cassandra struggled to get through her contact, "I should do this in a quieter place. Can we go to your room?" Alex helped her up and lead her into a bedroom, "this is Meredith's room. We-we are Meredith's house, right. Sorry." she hit the send button on her phone and turned it up as loud as it could go so Alex could hear clearly.
"Cassandra?! It's two in the morning, what are you still doing up?!" her mother's accented voice came over the phone
"I'm at a party with my boyfriend. Is dad with you?"
"He's right next to me, why? What is wrong?"
"I wanted to tell you both how I think you're both terrible people. You shouldn't have children if you are just going to leave them with nannies all the damn time. You shouldn't have children if you can't raise them yourself. MASON dropped out of law school to take care of me. You haven't done a damn thing. You are both terrible people. And I'll be damned if you are invited to my funeral. I don't even want you to know I'm dead, you don't deserve that. But what's worse about this whole thing? I still love you guys and I forgive you." Cassandra hung up the phone before she could hear her parents response. She looked at Alex and smiled before it turning into a frown, she stood up rather quickly and ran to the bathroom. She heard Alex's rushed footsteps and moved her hair out of the way as she threw up the contents of her stomach.
"Now you have had the full experience of being drunk."
"This is gross." she said, coughing.
"Is she okay?" Mason's voice came into the room and she looked over at her brother and smiled. He handed her a bottle of water.
"Go back to law school, Mason. Please I want you to re-enroll to start in the spring before I die. You do so much for me already, so add one more to the list. You are going to be a great lawyer."
"You're drunk, Cass."
"I told mom and dad off."
"No way?!"
"Hell yeah. My girl was awesome." Alex said beaming with pride. He kissed Cassandra's forehead.
"I'm tired, Alex." she complained.
"We should get you back to the hospital."
"Can we go in the morning? Can we go back to your apartment? I want to sleep in a really comfortable bed." Cassandra asked, standing up. She swigged some water in her mouth before turning to look at Alex, but he and Mason were in a staring contest.
"Let's go steal George's bed? I don't feel comfortable driving."
"YES! Let's steal George's bed!" Cassandra said, taking off down the hallway. Alex caught up to a breathless Cassandra in the doorway of George's bedroom. Alex helped her inside and she began to take her boots off, but he had to end up helping her, "I'm pathetic. This isn't sexy at all."
"Don't worry about being sexy. I don't really want to have sex with my drunk girlfriend."
"I wasn't talking about having sex?! I know I'm going to die a virgin, I'm cool with that."
"If I let you die a virgin, that'd be leaving something on your list incomplete." Cassandra looked at him and fell back on the bed. He pulled her up to the pillow by her arms and covered her with the blanket before taking off his own shoes. He took his shirt off and jeans, leaving him in boxers. He got into bed and looked over at Cassandra.
"Why? Why are you doing this?"
"There is something about you I like. I wish you'd continue to fight, but I know that you're only going to get worse."
"I'm falling in love with you, Alex." Cassandra said, she swallowed and heard a noise outside of the door. It opened and a drunk George stumbled inside the room.
"What the hell are you two doing in my bed?"
"I'm tired." Cassandra complained, "and I wanted to sleep in a real bed for once." George huffed.
"Well don't have sex."
"He won't have sex with me while I'm drunk. He's more noble than that." Cassandra said looking over at Alex with a smile.
"She's really drunk." Alex said.
"No, I'm not! I'm happy. I have my boyfriend and my best friend in the same room. George! Come lay with us!"
"I'm gonna go sleep on the couch." George said.
"Okay! See you tomorrow!" Cassandra said happily. She laid on her back before springing up again, "I need to brush my teeth." she got out of bed and slowly walked to the bathroom, she started going through things looking for a brand new toothbrush and finally found one. She brushed her teeth and sat on the toilet to go to the bathroom before going back to the room where Alex was waiting for her. She closed the door behind her and removed her skirt and top.
"What are you doing?"
"I can't sleep in these clothes. Don't worry though." she got back into bed and looked at Alex. She kissed him before turning onto her other side and falling asleep.
