A/N: I'm sorry for the late updates. With school, I've been stressed out and I've had a lot of homework and studying to do. I'll try and update as much as I can, over break. Enjoy the chapter.
"This is a city of death, fires, floods, but they never say anything about the violence we do to each other. We turned it all into one big party to distract ourselves from the truth. We're all going to die" Cami says to Vincent Griffith, aka, Finn Mikaelson. She doesn't know that it's him though. Vincent asks her "is that what you're afraid of?"
Cami asks raising her eyebrows at him, looking at him warily "who says I'm afraid of anything?" Vincent says to her "we've been meeting like this for weeks now. You're still dodging my questions. You can't expect that your future patients will come clean and open up to you when you can't do it yourself."
She folds her arms and says, annoyed "I'm open. Would you prefer to hear about my dead brother or my dead uncle?" Vincent says "how about the living? You are charming, intelligent, and above all, beautiful. You must have had some friends or boyfriends. You're really telling me that there's no one that warrants discussion in this?"
Cami says "I am attracted to the wrong kind of guy and I know, it's a tale as old as time" and Vincent says "well, it is your tale and your life. It's your story to tell." Cami says "there was this one guy. Smart, loyal, kind, cared for others, but I honestly believe I was just his rebound girl. He was also-- in his own way, unique. In which, meant that I should probably stay away from him." Vincent asks "unique?"
Finn was looking for something out of this for his own benefit. Cami says "just trust me on this one, we are not compatible" and Finn says "you said there was this one guy. I assume there's another?" Cami sighs and looks hesitant to speak.
She decides to speak and says "there was this other guy, but nothing ever happened between us. He is even more unique, but nothing would ever happen between us. At least, definitely not now, anyway. He just got under my skin, I guess. Manipulative mother, abusive father, and under all of that anger, mistrust, and cruelty there was good in him. He only showed it around his girlfriend and his best friend, but I got a glimpse of that man."
Finn nods as she continues "see, before they got together, his girlfriend liked both him and his brother. Just recently she chose between them and she chose him. And a part of me was hoping-- the entire time that she was thinking on it, that she would choose his brother. Because I've always caught myself wishing that it was me. That it had been me."
Vincent looks intrigued as she continues "I can see the good in him and sometimes, I consider him a friend, but sometimes I can't help but to feel more than friend feelings for him. But, I know he loves his girlfriend and she loves him too and I really, really, like her, she is the sweetest thing ever. And nothing in this world would make me want them to be apart. They are each other's half and I think down the line, that's what I want, too."
Finn moves closer to her, showing his interest. Finn asks "are you saying that you want to switch places with his girlfriend?" Cami says "no, not like that. Or maybe I do, but I don't think too much about it. They had a kid together and I think they've always belonged together. I just want the kind of passion they have."
Finn asks "so, what happened with them?" Cami frowns and says sadly "they lost lost their child after it was born months ago. And they also lost a very good friend of theirs too. The best friend I told you about. She was a friend of mine as well and I miss her everyday. She was kind, fiesty like you wouldn't believe, strong, passionate, proud, and brave. After they lost their child and lost her, they grew distant from me. Cut off all ties with me. I guess, not everyone wants to be saved from the pain."
