Riley Meets Motherhood [2] (ON HOLD)

Chapter 8: Protecting Family

A/N: Sorry for taking so long to update. I have been very busy and my computer was acting up, but I'm back now. Enjoy!

Finn is doing a locator spell to try and find Hope, but he has had no such luck. After trying a new spell, it still didn't work and out of frustration, he knocks everything off the table and onto the floor.

As he huffs in anger, a girl walks in and he turns to her and looks at her in annoyance. He asks her "who are you?" And the girl says "I was hoping you would recognize me. Then again, you look a bit different yourself." Finn says, frustrated "I'm gonna ask you again, before I ask much less kindly. Who are you?"

The girl states while walking towards him "fitting I'd find you up here. We used to climb up into the trees when we were planning a bit of mischief. Never wanted Mother to hear what her little Huginn and Muninn were whispering about."

Finn looks at her and gapes in shock "now, Finn, don't break my heart and tell me you've forgotten all about me." Finn states in shock "It can't be. Freya?" Freya giggles and runs to him and hugs him tightly. Finn is still in shock, while Freya is smirking.

Riley's POV
I wake up from another nightmare about Hope. I can hear her crying out for me. I need to go to her. I turn to look at Nik and I smile down at him. I can't bring myself to wake him. I carefully get out of bed and pack a bag.

I'm about to write Nik a note when I see him toss and turn. His arm goes to my side of the bed. He probably was going to wrap his arm around me. When he felt nothing, he shot up, awake. I smile at him while he looks at me confused, he goes to check the time and he sees it's 5:19am.

Nik looks back to me and asks "what are you doing up so early, love? And where are you going?" I say "to see Hope. I know it's too risky, but I have to go to her Nik, she needs me. And I just have a bad feeling something is going to happen. Please, don't try to talk me out of it."

Nik gets up and walks over to me and wraps his arm around my waist while he uses his other hand to touch my cheek. He kisses my forehead and says "if you are absolutely sure, then I won't stop you, but please be careful."

I say "I will. I wish you can come with me. She needs the both of us" and Nik says "I wish I can, but while I'm over here trying to make our home safe for her again, you should go be with her. One of us will have to do." I sigh and he kisses me and I kiss him back.

I put my hand on his arm, the one he's using to touch my cheek and my other hand is on the back of his neck to deepen the kiss. After a minute, we pull away and I grab the keys and go to leave.

As I'm walking to my car, I hear him whisper with my vamp hearing "be careful, little wolf" and I say "I promise I will." I get into my car and drive off to see my little girl. My Hope.

I'm finally here. I get out of the car and I walk onto the porch. I use the key under the mat to open the door. I walk in silently to prevent anyone from waking up. I look around for a clock and I see it is now 7:25am.

I walk upstairs and I go to Elijah's room and I see her crib. I walk over to it and I look inside and see her asleep. She looks so beautiful. She opens her eyes and looks at me and I look into her beautiful blue-green eyes and smile. She smiles at me and starts to giggle and I laugh a little too.

I go to pick her up when suddenly, I am thrown against the wall. I groan in pain and I hear Hope cry furiously thinking someone has hurt me, but I know it was Elijah doing what I asked him. To protect Hope. He doesn't know it's me yet.

I get up and look at him and he widens his eyes in shock and asks "Riley?" And I say trying to lighten the mood "I know, I should have called first. My bad" I see him crack a small smile at that and he walks towards me.
