Riley Meets Motherhood [2] (ON HOLD)

Chapter 6: Protecting Hope

Rebekah is walking outside to find Elijah. All she is thinking about is how she, her brothers, Hayley, Gage, and Riley are going to be spending Bonfire season together. She's really excited. But, the one thing that was missing was Gabby. She misses her everyday.

She's also really excited to see Riley, Klaus, and Hope meet again. When she spots Elijah she walks over to him while saying cheerfully "well, isn't this place rather nice..." she picks up a bottle of wine "Nik must have compelled a wine lover to keep it up because I found a 2005 bordot! Fancy a sip?"

Elijah says "I appreciate the sentiment, Rebekah, but I do recognize when I'm being handled with kid gloves." Rebekah sighs and puts down the wine while asking "how are you feeling?" Elijah turns to her and says "patronized" they both look down at Hope, who is laying in her play pen, cooing.

Elijah says "I am here to protect you." Rebekah says "I know you mean to, Elijah-" Elijah interrupts her "and yet, you find it necessary to render me unconscious before bringing me here?"

Rebekah says "you weren't yourself, Elijah! And I needed to get us out of that diner. What happened back there?" Elijah tenses and says "I don't know. Niklaus sent me to protect Hope. I promised Riley I will always protect her. My job is to keep her safe. I will not let Riley down."

Davina and Jacque are performing a spell to help Cami. Davina says "it's finished. But, I'm afraid it's not enough to protect Cami's body from Esther's magic" and Jacque says "I might know a way to distract you from your troubled mind" Davina smiles and laughs.

Marcel says to Jacque, unamused "you can take this seriously, or I can lock you in a coffin like your brother Finn, if you prefer" and Jacque says, annoyed "what I'd prefer you to do is back off. This spell needs time to cook in peace."

Marcel says "Cami doesn't have time. Esther can jump anybody into her body right now" and Jacque says "true, but the thing is, she's not going to jump just anybody. She's going to jump Rebekah, who just happens to be miles away. But, I guess it's understandable, Marcel, I'd be a bit testy, too, if my old ex was about to jump into my new ex. I think that would be a bit, uh-" Cami interrupts him "awkward?"

Jacque says while shrugging "I was going to say kinky, but-" Marcel interrupts him by vamp speeding towards him angrily and grabbing him by the collar of his shirt. Cami pulls him off and says "I appreciate the chivalry, Marcel, but he'll have an easier time protecting me if he's alive." Marcel releases Jacque and demands "keep working" Marcel and Cami leave Jacque and Davina to their work. Davina sighs "what is it with you two?"

Jacque says "it gets a bit old. Playing odd-man-out in my own family. You know, Klaus, Rebekah, Elijah, they were always a party of three. No room for me or Kol at the table, but there always seemed to be room for Marcel. Well, there was sometimes room for Kol, but never for me. Kol always had my back when I felt left out. And now, there's definitely no room for me, considering Kol now hates me bloody guts."

He watches as Davina starts cleaning up the herbs and salt from the table. Jacque says "you know that diamond, the one that I showed you?..." Davina nods her head "well, that was the baby version. The one that we need to do the dagger spell, well, that has to be a lot bigger. A hundred years ago, Kol and I had it in our hands, then Marcel ratted us out to Klaus and they took it. He probably bloody well kept it."

Davina smiles and says "then, let's steal it back. It's a good chance to snoop!" And Jacque says, pleased "it's like you're in my mind, Davina Claire!" She smiles and laughs cheerfully.

Riley's POV
Nik has been driving all night and we're almost there. I'm so nervous. I'm going to get to see my daughter again and I'm so happy. My heart is now turning whole. For these pass months she's been out of my life, I've felt a big hole in my heart, but as soon as I see her, I know it will be whole again. But, I'm extremely nervous and scared.
