I look up to the audience who look bewildered. My performance wasn't the best, why do they seem shocked? Is it because it was bad? Soon after, the audience erupted in cheers, the loudest it has been all night. A slight blush graced my cheeks and my face didn't show anything along the lines of emotionless, it was shocked.
Not long after, an excited looking mayor skipped onto the stage.
"Ah! Fairy Tail is full of surprises! Please allow the judges to pick their winners!"
I walked off the stage, feeling a little merry inside. Everything was bubbly. A barely noticeable smile crawled onto my features with a blush making their way onto my cheeks. I'm lucky it's dark, otherwise my pink tinted cheeks will be as bright as day and the whole world could see.
But the main reason why I'm so happy is, because I can finally smile again. Well, just a little.

"Y/N!! You did an awesome job!" Natsu ran towards me an engulfed me into a warm embrace.
Lucy, Gray, Erza, Happy, Wendy and Carla followed behind Natsu with compliments ready to share.
Soon, a giddy voice echoed from outside.
"The judges have settled on their scores!
In third place, we have Rogue Cheney from Sabertooth!" Cheers rang from outside.
The said dragon slayer made his way onto the stage with a smirk forming.
"In second place, we have Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail!!" The salamander immediately made his way onto the stage with his signature grin.

Lucy Heartfilia!!" I clapped with joy.
I'm glad she won but I feel a little hurt because my work went nowhere. But I'm not going to feel remorse just because I lost, I'm glad my friends won.

Lucy skipped onto the stage, holding the prize money in her hands that was stuffed into a case.
"Oh sorry.." The crowd went quiet...
"It is Y/N L/N who won first! Lucy won fourth but I forgot to read it!" The mayor scratched the back of his head sheepishly while I stared in shock. Did I really come first??

Lucy pouted, heartbroken but then regained a smile.
"It's okay! Now let's welcome Y/N onto the stage!" Lucy recovered quickly.. Too quickly.
I nervously walk onto the stage, hoping I won't screw up..
Lucy hands the case of the prize money to me with a grin.
