(Scene: The Ambrose's living room)
(Characters onstage: Narrator, Mr Luke Ambrose, Mrs Rose Ambrose and Isaac Ambrose)
(Mr Luke Ambrose is asleep in his coffin)
(There are two coffins in the living room)
(Mrs Rose Ambrose is asleep in her coffin)
Narrator: After finally waking up, Isaac has started to tell his parents about the new girl in school but as predicted, his parents won't be thrilled.
Isaac Ambrose: Mum, Dad, I had a great day in school today!
(Mr Luke Ambrose rises from his coffin)
Mr Luke Ambrose: Really? That's good! What made it so good? You're mother is still asleep.
Isaac Ambrose: Oh I met someone... she was really sweet, kind of shy. She's new to this school...
Mr Luke Ambrose: Oh? What was her name?
Isaac Ambrose: Her name was Lola... doesn't it just sound beautiful. So beautiful it awoke the hunger in me... such a painful feeling but I ignored it! I fought it back...
Mr Luke Ambrose: Isaac, son... what happened? Please tell me you didn't start shaking!
Isaac Ambrose: I did father, uncontrollably... it must have been her passion...
Mr Luke Ambrose: No son, just no! YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS! YOU STARTED SHAKING INFRONT OF HER! PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS A JOKE! ROSE! WAKE UP!
(Mr Luke Ambrose wakes Mrs Rose Ambrose up by knocking on her coffin)
(Mrs Rose Ambrose gets up and out her coffin)
Isaac Ambrose: What's so bad?! I don't understand!
(Mr Luke Ambrose sighs)
Mr Luke Ambrose: Rose, do you want to tell him or shall I?
(Mrs Rose Ambrose sighs)
Mrs Rose Ambrose: Son, we only get hunger shakes if there is a slayer nearby, it's our instinct working, it's trying to get you to feed on her to protect yourself.
Mr Luke Ambrose: You need to be careful son! You cannot go around making friends with slayers! SHE'LL STAKE YOU WITHOUT A SECONDS THOUGHT!
Mrs Rose Ambrose: Now, now dear, we can't nip this in the bud before it gets any worse... We'll have to.
Mr Luke Ambrose: No! We can take him out of school, home school him from now on, then we don't have to buy any sunscream, we can simply chill out here and make sure his passions for humans breaks down! We shouldn't have moved here, it was stupid of us to move here! We should have stayed away from this world! IT HAS IT'S CLAWS INTO MY SON!
(Isaac Ambrose sighs)
(Exit Isaac Ambrose - Stage Right)
Mrs Rose Ambrose: Don't get any crazy ideas dear, if we pull him out of school now, she may suspect something is wrong and we may not be able to get away in time. I suggest we just make sure Isaac and Lola keep away from each other, therefore he won't be tempted and she won't find out what he is. Come on dear, it's a win-win situation.
(Mr Luke Ambrose sighs)
Mr Luke Ambrose: Fine! We'll stay here but he MUST stay away from her! We don't want any trouble with the slayers! We have avoided them for so many years and Isaac doesn't know how dangerous they actually are! We should have taught him from the moment he was born! We shouldn't have let him grow up the way he has.
Mrs Rose Ambrose: Maybe you're right dear but the damage is done, he has grown up with tales of humans being ok with our kind, we never believed there were still slayers in this world. I personally thought they died out years ago.
Mr Luke Ambrose: Me too, I know I'm a bit hot-headed but I don't want to lose our son, he's our only son! I don't want to see him as a pile of ash!
Mrs Rose Ambrose: Neither do I, that is why we must be careful, play our next move carefully. We'll keep him away from Lola.
