(Scene: The Archer's household)
(Characters onstage: Narrator, Mr Archer, Lola Archer and Isaac Ambrose)
Narrator: After deciding the best thing to do was to brave the wrath of the slayer Mr Ambrose, Isaac decided it was time to man up or rather fang-up and show him that he won't leave but he doesn't want a fight. How very noble of him to risk his life for the one he loves. I guess vampires can be romantic after all.
Lola Archer: Father, hear me out! Please! I love him, I don't want him to live in another world because you don't have the guts to listen to them! You don't have the guts to talk to them, to realise they are not evil! They are just like us Dad, they have a family whom they protect!
(Mr Archer sees Lola Archer's cut)
Mr Archer: And I suppose he didn't do that did he?! YES OF COURSE HE IS THE SAME AS US! I WILL NOT LISTEN TO A CREATURE THAT DRANK YOUR BLOOD LOLA! I CANNOT DO THAT! DO NOT ASK ME TO DO THAT!
Lola Archer: Well you don't have to, he didn't do it! He saved me from his aunt! I saw him! I saw his fangs and I saw him stop, when I called him 'Angel Eyes' he stopped, he realised what he was doing and he stopped! Dad, they really can live in the human world!
Isaac Ambrose: I admit sir, I am not proud of what almost happened but I am glad Lola did stop me and sir, I am in love with your daughter, I cannot see myself with anyone other than your daughter. Please, let me stay here, please sir. I love your daughter so much, I cannot be myself without her so please, don't take her away from me!
Mr Archer: Can you promise you will never hurt my daughter? Can you promise you will never turn my daughter into a vampire? Can you promise that you won't expect her to give up hunting vampires because they are your kind?
Lola Archer: DAD!
Isaac Ambrose: No Lola, it's okay, I can promise what Mr Archer is asking me to promise and I can keep it, I promise you sir, I swear on my life that I will do what it is that you have asked me to do.
Mr Archer: If I feel I cannot trust your word then I will stake you, you need to realise that! I will not let my daughter get involved with an evil vampire. I only just getting used to the idea of my daughter dating a vampire. I mean I am doing this for her, not for you, I mean that, I am not doing this for you Isaac
Lola Archer: DAD! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH DAD! I'M SO HAPPY THAT YOU ACCEPT HIM! I KNOW YOU'LL COME TO RESPECT HIM AND MAYBE EVEN LIKE HIM ONE DAY!
Mr Archer: Isaac, if it's okay with you, I do have a few questions to ask you if it's okay? I mean, I suppose it's normal to ask questions. I mean you are dating my daughter and if I feel the answers are the truth then I will let your family stay here just as long as they don't kill anyone. Do you agree to letting me ask you these questions?
Lola Archer: Oh Dad! For God sake!
(Isaac Ambrose covers his ears)
Lola Archer: Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't realise that had an effect on you guys! I mean your kind...
Isaac Ambrose: It's okay Lola, I understand, you wouldn't hurt me unless it was absolutely necessary! and yes sir, I agree to answer all your questions... Hopefully I didn't just make a huge mistake...
Mr Archer: Well, lets not beat about the bush. How do your family feed? Nice easy question to get started with.
Isaac Ambrose: We drink from blood-bags, although it's disgusting and usually has no taste apart from iron because of its age, it does the trick and we can survive on it and it is very easy to get, mother works in the hospital so blood-bags are easy to get.
Mr Archer: Okay, well that is one be relief. Next question, have you EVER turned a human-being?
Isaac Ambrose: No, never. It has never appealed to me, I mean damning someone to be like me forever isn't something I would want to do, it wouldn't be a life I choose for myself let alone someone else.
Mr Archer: Interesting...
Lola Archer: Oh for goodness sake! Isaac have you ever actually bitten anyone?
Isaac Ambrose: No, never.
Mr Archer: LOLA! I'M THE ONE ASKING THE QUESTIONS HERE! NOW... GO MAKE US SOME TEA!
Lola Archer: No way! I want to hear this!
Mr Archer: Go... sweep the kitchen floor or something!
Lola Archer: And people say vampires are behind the times?! I will not sweep the floor!
Mr Archer: Well calm down and listen then. Now, Isaac, when were you bitten and how old were you?
Isaac Archer: Bitten? I wasn't bitten... I was born this way... I never knew what being human was like until I experienced it. My mother brought some sun-cream and being a very modern vampire she made my dad test it out for her to see if it would be suitable for our use. I was delighted when I found out I could use it to experience the sunlight. I used to wonder about it, I used to wonder just how beautiful it was and now I can see it for myself.
Mr Archer: Well as cute as that is, it doesn't change what you are, what you were born as. It's cruel that you've never experienced a human life though. Another question, do you thirst for my daughter's blood?
Isaac Ambrose: I cannot deny that I have in the past craved it but I would NEVER take it from her veins, you must believe me, I could not do that to her or to anyone! to do that would make me a monster.
Mr Archer: Well I have decided on whether your family can stay in this world or not and well... it's not good news...
(Isaac Ambrose REMAINS CALM)
Isaac Ambrose: I told you the truth, every word I said was the truth
Mr Archer: I have decided that you all can stay. The last part was a test to see how you would handle things, to see how you would handle being told 'bad' news. I must admit, you handled it pretty well and I am willing to talk to your family and negotiate who can stay and who must leave
Lola Archer: Well, if he goes then so do I! SIMPLE!
