For the next several days Namjoon would come to The Hidden Treasure and sit in the overstuffed chair, reading softly to Hyejin and talking with her. Occasionally she would laugh at something he said and he would listen to it with complete focus. Her laugh was life.
Business came in waves. People came and went without so much as a glance towards the reading corner. All except for one pair of steely eyes.
What is so great about him? Sure, he's a celebrity. I guess he's handsome. But seriously! She's just setting herself up for heartbreak! Guys like that end up being womanizers and have egos the size of the moon. I can't let her get hurt.
Jinyoung sat behind the counter with his eyes trained on the cozy looking couple in the corner. He sighed and tore his eyes away because he couldn't bear to look at them anymore. It made him feel physically sick. He'd had no time alone with her the last few days because Namjoon had been there every day. Even if he left for something, he would come right back afterwards.
Jinyoung knew he was on borrowed time. Jinjoo was nagging him to come clean to Hyejin and let her come back to work. He was racking his brain to try and find any excuse whatsoever to stick around, but he was running out of ideas, both good and bad.
"Hey, what's your name again?"
A voice that grated his nerves assaulted his ears. He turned a sour look to the younger man and scowled his response. "Jinyoung."
Jungkook sucked some air in between his teeth, squinting his eyes as he studied the man's face. "Hm. You look familiar." His face brightened and his eyes grew wide and he snapped his fingers. "Oh! I know why your name sounds familiar. A member of B1A4 has your name. Jinyoung Sunbae. You kind of look like him too." Jungkook turned his head slightly and eyed Jinyoung from the side, trying to figure out exactly who he looked like.
Jinyoung rolled his eyes. "That's funny, most people say I look like the Jinyoung from Got7. I looked him up on the internet. I see what people are saying." He smiled smugly and moved some stacks of books around for no reason whatsoever.
Jungkook laughed out loud and doubled over. "Seriously?! Junior-hyung?! No, no, no." He waved a finger as he giggled. "I know Junior-hyung. You most definitely do NOT look like Junior-hyung."
Jinyoung scowled anew and unintentionally slammed a stack of books down on the counter. "Don't you have some comic to read?"
Jungkook stifled his giggles and nodded. "Yeah, I guess. Care to join me? Looks like you could use a good laugh." He grinned slyly as the other man stared daggers at him. "On second thought, you just stay right there," snickered Jungkook, who turned and walked back to the manga corner.
Jungkook settled into a large beanbag chair and delved into a new manga book. He caught some movement out of the corner of his eye and he looked up and saw some black hair just over the top of the shelf next to him. He heard heavy breathing and a few excited whimpers. His eyes narrowed and he slowly and silently crept closer to the shelf, listening.
"Yes! It is! I promise you. The tip was a good one. I can't believe she is spending all this time with him. No, she's a troll. I snapped a few photos. I think you should post them asap. Yes. No, he needs to learn a lesson. We aren't going to stand for this. Yes, tell her you have my permission. Make sure to bounce the IP so it can't be traced. Yeah. I've said too much. You never know who's listening. Let's meet tonight. Where? Okay. Sounds good. Bring the others. We'll set our plan in motion. Okay."
Jungkook frowned. Was that person talking about Namjoon and Hyejin? A cold sweat broke out on his back and he felt it trickle down his spine. He quickly looked over to Jinyoung to see if he was looking around and he wasn't. He was scowling at the couple in the corner again. Jungkook looked through the top of the shelf at his eye level and saw a person in a dirty brown coat. Their hair was pulled back in a messy ponytail and looked like it hadn't been brushed in a while. There was a peculiar smell coming from them. His nose crinkled as he watched them shove their phone back in their pocket and casually walk out of the shop. He quickly stood up and tried to catch a glance at their face.
