"I'm sorry I can't-"
"Hey, listen, a schedule can be pushed back." Bang PD smiled and patted Jimin's arm.
"What's going on?" asked J-Hope. He had been feeling incredibly nervous ever since Jimin returned home with Taehyung. They had gone straight to their room and not said a word to anybody. "I mean, are you free to dance? Are they releasing you completely?" His face was looking paler by the second as no one answered him and sat in silence. His words trailed off into a whisper and he shrunk back into his seat.
Jimin sighed deeply and looked to Bang PD, who smiled and nodded. Jimin sighed and stood up in the middle of the room. Taehyung lightly grabbed his wrist and looked up at him from his seat. Jimin simply smiled down at him and turned to the rest of the group.
Yoongi's leg was bouncing up and down because of his nerves and his hands were in a praying position over his nose, while Namjoon was staring at the floor. Jungkook was pacing behind the ones seated on the couch and Jin was staring at Jimin intently. J-Hope looked like he was about to throw up and his face was white.
"Jimin, I swear if you don't speak soon, I will come up off this couch and break your other leg," said Yoongi in a tight voice through gritted teeth.
Jimin nodded and opened his mouth to speak. "So, I got my final report back today. They X-rayed my leg once more and my back." He shifted to his good leg as his other was still weak from being in the cast for so long. He felt someone nudge him from behind and he looked back to see Taehyung handing him one of his crutches to lean on. He grinned widely and gladly took it, placing it under his arm and leaning his weight on it. That felt much better.
Taehyung grinned and smacked his friend's behind lightly with a small chuckle.
Jimin took a deep breath and chose to ignore his antics. "Anyway, as I was saying, the doctor said that I'm good to go."
A collective sigh of relief reverberated throughout the room. Yoongi flung himself backwards into the couch and covered his face with his hands. Namjoon hung his head and smiled brightly. He gave Jimin a high thumbs up. Jin clapped his hands and congratulated Jimin on his progress. Jungkook said a simple, "Congrats, hyung."
J-Hope covered his mouth with his hand and slowly stood up, making his way over to Jimin. Jimin staggered a bit as his friend flung his arms around him and sobbed. "Jimin-ah, I was so worried." He hiccuped and Jimin returned his hug, as weird as it was.
"I just kept seeing you hanging upside down in that van covered in blood. I remember seeing your leg and I was so scared you would never dance again. I know how much dancing means to you." Hobie swayed gently and tears streamed down his cheeks. "I don't care if we never do another comeback. I'm just so glad you're okay," he whispered, pressing his forehead against Jimin's.
He held him in place and cried. He had been relatively quiet during Jimin's recovery period but Jimin could always see something was secretly bothering J-Hope. Now he knew what it was and he was overwhelmed by the love his friend had for him.
"Hobi, it's okay. I'm okay. Really. Don't cry," he whimpered.
No one had the nerve to break the moment so they all sat silently. Finally, Bang PD stood up and put his two arms around the two dancers. "Jimin still has a while to heal before he can go full force with his dancing. I'm afraid we will have to push the comeback back a little more. Probably after the first of the year. I'm sorry to let you know we probably won't be participating in any of the year end performances."
Everyone nodded and a dark feeling settled on the room.
"Guys, look, I'm sorry for the delay. The doctor said while my bones have healed, I need to build up the muscles around them again so they don't break again right away. I know you're all disappointed but I promise to work hard and quickly so you won't be delayed by me for too long." He felt J-Hope squeeze his shoulders and he looked over to his friend.
