•Shawn's POV•
I wake up in the new room, I still have to get used to. Looking over at the clock that reads " 8:37 A.M." I groan and throw the sheets off my body.
I push my half naked self out of bed and head to the bathroom. I walk into the sun lit bathroom, do my business and stand in front of the mirror. Groaning again, seeing that I look like the definition of death. Still I carry on brushing my teeth running my hand through my messy hair and wash my face.
Then mopeing back into the room, i can't help but think about yesterday. Me finding out the worse news of my life, Me getting angry and leaving my house, Me meeting this girl, Me tackling that girl. That girl. That—girl?
Her. Her..... her. That girl that I still cease to know her name.
Somewhat pushing the thought away, but still having it lingering in my thoughts, I pull a sweatshirt over my bare chest, and pull on some black jeans.
The second I open the door to my room, I hear a faint music playing. Guessing it was just her, I carefully make my way downstairs, trying to be as quiet as I can.
Once I got to the floor I then followed the sound of the music, which ended up leading me to the entry on the kitchen. Then I am very quick to find a joyful, dancing, girl. Then very soon to also find her short pajama bottoms, and a crop top that has matching elephants.
As she dances around the kitchen, throwing her hands in the hair, spinning around, smiling like there's no tomorrow, she looks absolutely beautiful. I don't even know her name. But she's gorgeous. Me, still not even getting a clear look at her face, just seeing her actions makes her beautiful.
After about 2 minutes of me standing in the doorway of the kitchen and her still dancing, and still hasn't noticed me. I clear my throat and she instantly stops dancing. I immediately start to grin, and quickly after turns into a smirk once I notice her blushing.
"Elephants eh?" I say mentioning her pajamas while smirking.
At the mention of her pajamas a blush even more, her cheeks turning a bright red color making me smirk even more.
"Uh—I–" She nervously laughs, "Um—I don't know ho—" she tries to explain but I cut her off.
"I think you're burning something." I raise one eyebrow and put back on a small smirk.
"What—I—shit" She stutters and catches on to what I was saying.
She scurries over to the burnt pancake, turning the stove off and moving the pan to a cold burner. She looks at the black pancake.
"Ahh mAn." She whines holding out the 'A' in a higher pitch.
I smile to myself at the how I thought her whining was cute. I watch as she takes the burnt pancake off the pan and throw it away in the trash can, and turns off the music, her long brunette hair swaying on her back as she walks.
"Sorry about that." She says slyly, looking down at her feet as her hair falls in her face, then she looks back up at me.
I smirk once again. "No, don't worry about it at all. It was actually pretty interesting to watch." I say telling the honest truth.
Her cheeks turn a faint shade of pink at what I said, "Yeah, I kinda got carried away I guess." She nervously laughs.
We stare at each other for a moment before the sudden need to know her name pops into my thoughts.
I start, "Hey—" But cut off by her says "Wha—" at the same time.
"Sorry, you go first." She says closing her eyes and shaking her head ever so slightly.
"No, no, you go ahead."
"I still don't know your name...." she says and makes her mouth into a straight line.
"I was gonna say the same thing actually." I slightly awkwardly chuckle.
We look at each other for a moment.
"Serena." She says switching her gaze from one of my eye to the other.
"Shawn." I speak with a straight face, keeping my stare with her.
She looks down at the ground, and lightly chuckles.
"Tackle a person and it still takes this long to learn their name." She chuckles even more.
At her statement I began to chuckle in embarrassment and throw my head back and groan while laughing.
"I'm still so sorry about that." I lightly laugh.
She smiles at the ground shaking her head, "Nah, your fine, no hard feeling...... just the ground." She says mumbling the last part.
I rub my face with my hands and push myself away from the kitchen entry I was leaning on. Making my way into the kitchen, the leaning onto the kitchen bar counter.
She starts to clean up, putting the pan in the sink and turning on the water. Then placing everything including the mix, eggs, milk, and measuring cups back into the pantry, fridge and drawers.
Once cleaned up she looks and lets out a big breath. She grabs the stack of 3 pancakes, syrup and butter, walks over the the bar counter I was leaning on and places the plate beside my hand.
"Enjoy." She grins and nods her head once.
"Took you long enough." I say sarcastically, in a bratty voice, placing a pancake on a plate while grinning to my smartass comment.
