•Shawn's POV•
Air. Wind. Adrenaline. Water.
As we were in the air our hands seems to loose connection. Leaving me to go under without any connection with her, but her still by my side as I felt her body make contact with the water as mine did.
The water warm, giving off the effect of floating in clouds. I submerge from the water and laugh.
I hear only my heavy breathing and the sound of my movement in the water. As I kick to stay afloat I wipe my face, getting the water out of my eyes.
"Serena?" I say worry laced in my voice.
I look around my surroundings and don't see that she has gotten out yet. I start to look under me, worry and fear penetrating into my body like a sharp knife to bare skin.
The lights around the pool illuminate the water, allowing me to see a couple feet under me. But not to the bottom.
I take a deep breath, dropping myself under the surface of the water, and open my eyes looking for her.
Left. Right. Circles.
I look all around my body. Another presence of any sort seeming to not be there.
Coming up to the surface completely out of breath. Breathing hard.
"Serena!" I yell, hoping for answer.
Silence.
I make my way over to the ledge of the cave. The deepness of the eerie liquid I'm not familiar too now frightening me.
As I reach my arm out to pull myself to the side, my foot is latched onto something and pulled under dragging me along with it.
I scream as I'm being pulled under, only to realize i was only under for close to a couple seconds. To reemerge coughing, giggle filling my ears. I wipe my face still coughing.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't think you would get that scared." Serena laughs.
My vision now cleared from water being able to make out her face. I stare confused for a moment, my facials changing into a smirk jumping for her. Grasping her in my arms, she squeals.
"Not funny" I say trying to hold back a laugh.
"Don't be upset big, strong Shawn was a little scaredy cat" she chuckles.
My arms releasing her as she turns to face me, us only being close enough for if I were to lean in our noses would touch.
Our breathing overpowering the sound of the chirping crickets. Our eyes locked in contact. Her features, complimented the moment perfectly.
Her hair. How is flowed with the water, surrounding her body. The way her body moved in the water as if she was made to do so.
Shit. I take a deep breath still holding eye contact.
"We should get out" I offer
She says nothing for a few seconds.
"Yeah." She says softly
She breaks the eye contact with me, and turns around to head to the side.
She pulls herself up out of the water and onto her feet. I do the same following her as she starts to walk toward the stairs leading back to the top.
Swiftly climbing the stairs we make our way back over to our towels by our clothes and wrap ourselves.
_______
We've been sitting under the stars for about half an hour, no words spoken. The silence not being awkward, but comforting. Our bodies. Side by side. Close together to where our arms are touching.
I turn my head toward her as she continues to stare up at the darkness of twinkling specks.
Her side view being absolutely amazing. She's stunning. No doubt about that. But her being in general. Is exceedingly beautiful.
