Elle's POV

I looked at the clock, my mum should be home soon. A smile crept onto my face as I remembered what happens a few hours ago. I talked to Seth for what seemed like forever and spilled my emotions and feelings to him. I then remembered why I was sad in the first place and my smile was immediately replaced with a frown.

I pushed my unhappy thoughts to the back of my mind as I heard the front door open and shut as my mum got home. "Hey mum!" I called so she would know that I was home. Malia, Felicity and I had done our homework at Malia's house so I didn't need to worry about that.

I grabbed my laptop and watched some movies. I kept on watching movies until I looked at my clock and realized that it was midnight. "Crab," I said in shock I don't sweat, or swear. I turned the movie off and put my laptop away. I turned to my side and fell into a deep slumber.

"Wake up! You're going to be late!" My mum shouted from her room. I pulled myself out of bed and walked to my mums room, trying my best not to trip as I was half asleep. I went into her room and helped her out of bed. "Thank you Elle, I don't know what I would do without you. Go make yourself some breakfast, Maddie should be here soon," My mum said smiling. "Oh, and after school can you visit Aden for me? I hope that boy wakes up soon," She added.

I nodded my head then realized that she couldn't see me. "I will, you know that I will," She smiled and nodded as I heard the front door open as Maddie arrived. I brushed past Maddie as I made my way to the kitchen. I grabbed two pieces of bread and spread some Nutella on them and made a Nutella sandwich.

I rushed back upstairs and quickly got dressed for school. In a simple top and jeans with a jacket. I slid my flats on and grabbed my school bag. My eyes watered as Aden pushing himself back into my mind. I rubbed my eyes and took a deep breath. He was fine, he was just on a little holiday, everything will be okay. I brushed my hair with my brush and looked at my mirror. I looked okay, It would have to do.

I went to the living room where my mum sat on the couch laughing with Maddie. "Bye mum, hello Maddie," I said briefly. "Bye Elle, have a good day," My mum said while Maddie smiled at me. I stepped outside as the icy air slapped me. Most people thought that it was always hot in Australia, but in winter it could be really cold, even if it didn't snow where I live.

I gripped the straps of my bag tightly as I walked. It was very quiet and peaceful at this time, it was one of the things that I loved about walking. The only noise on the empty street (besides from the chirping birds,) was my footsteps. Every now and again a car would pass by but that was it.

When my dad was still alive we used to go to the shops after school and he would buy me chocolate ice cream. But as he got sicker and sicker he wasn't able to take me anymore. I miss him a lot but I try not to think about it because it makes me feel worse.

I came to a halt as I arrived at my destination. I went over to where Malia and Felicity were standing waiting for me so we could go inside. "Hey," I mumbled so quietly that they could barely hear me. "Hey," Felicity said in a soothing tone. "How's your cousin?" She asked.

"He's in a coma, he might not make it," I said not really wanting to talk about Aden. Malia opened her mouth to say something but I cut her off before she could speak. "I don't really want to talk about it right now, please can we talk about this later?" I said sighing. Malia nodded with understanding. "Lets go inside," Felicity said. We walked inside, nothing said between us.

The day was all a fuzzy blur until lunch. I laughed with Malia and Felicity about something unimportant until Seth rushed over to me a bright smile plastered across his face. Felicity nudged me, a suggestive smile on her face. I rolled my eyes before turning to Seth. "Hey Seth," I said a smiling. "Hey, can you spare a minute or two?" He asked his eyes hopeful. "Sure," I said falling him unsure of where he was taking me. He stopped walking when we came to the benches in the outside area of the school where I usually have my lunch.

Daniel, leaned against one of the benches a bored expression on his face. "Elle, meet Daniel," Seth introduced me to Daniel. I raised my hand up hesitantly and awkwardly waved to Daniel. I could've died of embarrassment right then and there but I held onto my dignity. Daniel nodded his head in my direction, I guess that was his acknowledgement for me.  

"I um," I opened my mouth for a moment about to say something but I shut it two seconds after. "Hey, do you want to sit with us?" Seth asked. I stared at him for a second before I snapped back into reality. "Well I would just love to sit with you but I have somewhere to be," I lied backing away, bumping into the wall. "Please?" Seth asked again. My hand were clammy and my breaths seemed to get shorter. "I- uh, sure?" I said wanting to face palm. 

"Great! we'll meet you in the cafeteria," Seth said walking away with Daniel who stayed silent. The cafeteria? This was definitely going to be my last day alive. I rushed inside looking for Malia and Felicity. A girl with short hair bumped into me. "Watch where you're going," She said stalking off. "Sorry," I mumbled trying to find Malia and Felicity.

 I Bumped into many people and nearly tripped someone, once I had finally found Malia and Felicity. "Hey Elle, do you want to sit with us in the cafeteria?" Felicity asked smiling. Well I guess it wouldn't have made any difference if I didn't say yes to Seth, I thought mentally rolling my eyes. "Actually I told Seth that I would sit with him and Daniel," I said wincing. 

"What!" Malia shrieked. "You're sitting with them! How!" She continued to shriek until Felicity covered her mouth. I mouthed a thank you to Felicity while Malia ducked away from Felicity's hand. "I mean, how are you sitting with them, I've heard that they've never ever talked to any other student except for each other," Malia corrected. Everyone else just ignored us as if we were invisible, to everyone else I probably was invisible. No one except for my friends even knew my name! I rolled my eyes at the ridiculous rumour that Malia told me and shook my head.

"We're sort-of-friends, not quite friends but more than acquaintances," I explained casually. Malia just stared at me still not understanding. "They're friends dummy," Felicity said impatient. "I'm hungry can we just go eat?" She said looking at her watch. "Do you guys want to sit with Seth and Daniel too?" I asked. "No way! I will not sit on the same table as Daniel for all of lunch!" Felicity said fake vomiting. "It won't be that bad," I begged. Malia sighed agreeing. "Fine," Felicity stayed still with her arms crossed  until she nodded her head giving in.

We walked to the Cafeteria. All eyes were on us as we entered. I hoped that everyone would just ignore me like they were just doing before but I guessed wrong. "Nerds!"  some called laughing, It was probably Mia or Quinn. We went to where Seth sat with Daniel. I felt self-conscious as everyone was gaping at us. If I wasn't so terrified I would have laughed. 

"Who are these girls?" Seth asked smiling eating watermelon. "I'm Felicity and this is Malia," Felicity said digging through her bag trying to find her lunch. We all just ate in silence the whole time with everyone staring at us. It was awkward, really awkward.
