Elle's POV

I was sitting at a hair salon with Malia and Erica after school. I was zoned out as I stared at the wall in front of me. "Are you even listening!" Erica huffed. I nodded, staring into nothing. She rolled her eyes and turned to Malia.

I sighed bored out of my mind. The hair dresser finished her work on my hair. I looked at my reflection and sighed. My hair was only straightened, I had payed 60 dollars and wasted my time getting my hair straightened when I could've done it myself. I was in a slightly grumpy mood all week. I didn't know why though.

Erica was nice to me and I was nice back. I thought that she would be a good friend, but as time passed I slowly began to notice the small annoying things that she did. All she ever did was complain and whine and it was getting quite annoying and frustrating. I felt a little bad about how I had reacted to Felicity on Monday. She has been avoiding Malia and I ever since. Daniel tried to talk to her a few times but she ignored him.

I stood up and turned to Erica and Malia. Erica had a sour look on her face and was whining about her brother. "I'm done so I'm going home, I'll message you guys later," I said grabbing my bag. "You know how I don't believe in technology!" Erica huffed running her fingers through her hair, making the hair dresser frustrated. She glared at me. "And we were supposed to go makeup shopping!" She crossed her arms like a little child. Fed up with her whining I muttered a whatever and left.

Void of any emotion I dropped by bag on my bedroom floor and tiredly collapsed onto my bed. I laid for a few moments before I sat up and grabbed my laptop. I went onto Facebook and searcher Erica Dwarler. A profile with a little girl with messy red hair and two boys showed up. One of the boys had brown hair and the other had red.

I went into her page and saw a few pictures of her. I came across one of her and Daniel. They looked to be 11 years old. They were both smiling widely, Erica was holding a plastic Barbie doll. I scrolled down and saw another picture of Daniel kissing her cheek. How old were they! I thought.

I shut my laptop and put it aside. What a mystery you are Erica Dwarler. I thought falling asleep.

I woke up the next morning and had some buttered toast for breakfast. I ate as I thought about my childhood. I had friends when I was little. Very few who I did not speak to often but we acknowledged each other. Well, I did have a sort-of-friend for a short while but we didn't even know each others names.

I was sat alone on the shady part of the small grassy oval at my school. I was leaning against the tall oak tree as I read a book. I unknowingly played with a flower in my left hand. My eyes darted back and forth between the pages.

I was brought back to the real world when I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw a small boy with blonde hair that reached his eyes staring down at me. "What are you reading?" He shyly asked sitting down next to me. "It's a series about a girl and a boy who gets transported to fairy land," I said giggling as the boy scrunched up his nose. "The boy thinks that fairy land is girly and wants to leave. But they both learn that it's not and have fun adventures in fairyland," I said looking at the boy.

He leaned over my shoulder and skimmed over the page. "Cool," I tilted my head slightly. "Do you want to read with me?" I asked moving the book so he could see. He nodded. We took turns reading pages each. We barely spoke, other than when we were reading. I barely knew anything about the strange boy, not even his name.

Once we finished the book we moved onto the next, and the next, and so on. Once we finished all the books the boy seemed slightly sad almost. "Why don't we play fairy land!" I had suggested. We played a little bit but we stopped after a while. After then, we stopped being with each other. I saw the boy often with another boy called Daniel. I later learned that the little boy was called Seth.

Yeah, I used to be friends with Seth, but we never even spared a glance at each other, once I had found him staring at the back of my head in fourth grade but he turned away instantly with pink cheeks once he noticed that I had noticed him staring. I had a sip of my orange juice.
