ϟ ~ ϟ Chapter 7 ϟ ~ ϟ
I shifted from one foot to the other feeling uncomfortable, scared, confused and overwhelmed all at the same time.
His eyes focused on my outfit and immediately widened.
“You were the one dancing?” he asked shocked. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion but instead of swearing at him I just nodded my head. “Holy crap. You were amazing.” He said and looked surprised that these words came out of his mouth. Well, my dumbfounded face beats him so… He cleared his throat and scratched the back of his head. “Erm, I have to…” he stopped and gestured towards the people in black suits talking to my mum. “…go.” He finished and after standing there awkwardly for a few seconds, he walked away.
I stood there, not able to move an inch of my body from all the nervousness radiating off of me.
Why was he here?
Why did he talk to me like that?
Won’t he beat me up?
I couldn’t help but ask inside my head. I contemplated the last question and mentally slapped myself for even thinking he would do that publicly. No, actually scratch that. I meant in front of grown-ups and especially my mom. But I’m not sure he knows she is my mom.
I breathed in and out slowly and after waving my mom, I made my way towards the exit of the building.
After I was out, I started heading to the small coffee shop a few blocks down. It didn’t even bother me that I was still in a somewhat short dress with the ballet shoes still on.
“What can I do to hear your voice again?” the familiar voice asked and made me stop dead on my tracks. I turned around almost collapsing into him but managed to hold myself from doing so. I was beyond shocked that he had followed me out here and asked me that specific question. I composed myself and after I gave him one last look I proceeded on my target. “So now you’re avoiding me?” he asked and fell into step with me. Okay, this is just weird and it creeps me out.
Why is he doing that?
And why am I suddenly not so intimidated by him?
“Well, alright then.” He let out but instead of walking off he came with me inside the small store.
Wait… I can’t order my coffee if he is in front because that’s when he gets to hear my voice again. And he seems to have caught up on it because right now he’s giving me that cheeky smile that hundreds of girls have fallen for.
“I swear Chase, you can be a real pain in the ass.” I told him and then he switched into a stone mode. I gave him a weird look and ordered my coffee before taking a seat on one of the table booths at the back of the store. After a while, Chase came to his senses and once he caught my eye, he smiled and approached the table I was sitting, taking a seat himself.
“Now that’s what I’m talking about.” He said more to himself.
I did my best to ignore him and took a ship of my coffee.
“So… dancing, eh? I thought you would go for something like this after watching you dancing in the rain.” My eyes widened and I spit out the coffee getting a few glares from the waitress.
“You what?!” I whisper-yelled at him.
“Oh my God, if annoying you is going to get you to talk more then I will seriously enjoy this.” He announced and I scoffed crossing my arms over my chest.
“I have to go.” I randomly said and stood up. I made my way out ignoring his protests and made a run for the house.

“So he just… hanged out with you?” Jackson asked for the millionth time.
“How many times must I tell you? Yes.” I told him and scratched my arm where a sudden itch appeared.
“I’m sorry, but this doesn’t make any sense.” He said thoughtfully and scratched his chin. “Why he out of the whole world?”
“I have no idea.” I replied even though that was probably a rhetorical question. But I really had no idea. And this was so not Chase.

“Oh the whore is here.” Someone yelled but I ignored them and kept walking straight ahead passing some students who gave me the usual judging looks.
“Everyone! Make room for the fat piece of stupidity!” my eyes landed on the person that said that and I was not surprised to see Ricky standing behind Chase. I turned my gaze on Chase that had a look of guiltiness in his eyes.
Ohh, so the big boy plays all friendy-friend outside school but does nothing when in it?
Scratch that.
He just elbowed Ricky on the ribs making him shut his mouth. Everyone was shocked to say the least and I made my way to class with an opened mouth.
Did Chase just do that?
Did he just defend me in a way?

“He may have stopped beating you but I won’t, you fucking whore!” Ricky’s voice rang through my ears and my stomach was met with his shoe. I was just taking a walk in the park and he appeared out-of-nowhere. “If you’re a whore then you should enjoy this!” he yelled and I heard something metallic. Oh my God he’s removing his belt.
No, no!
He won’t.
Why isn’t anyone stopping him?
Where are all the people when you need them the most?
He tried tearing my clothes off and I struggled to keep him from doing so but having your stomach being kicked and parts of your body feeling shore and bleeding is not helping.
This is it!
He’s going to rape me!
In the middle of a park where suddenly no people are around…
“What the...?” I heard a voice say and then felt Ricky’s body being pulled away from me. Someone started punching him and I was struggling to see the face of my savior.
After a few moments, my vision was blurry and the guy had stopped hitting my almost-raper. He walked towards me and caught me in his arms.
“Shhh… I got you.” He said and I immediately stiffened at the voice but was too weak to do anything else.
