After arguing with Hadrian for 5 minutes, I was in the drivers seat with a grumbling angel next to me. I was slowly falling in love with his car.
"Hadrian, can I keep your car?" I asked.
"If you want one, I'll get you it but this one's mine."
I could totally imagine myself driving the vehicle. Down the street, with music then hitting Kane with the car. I started to grin.
"Turn here," Hadrian told me.
I turned the car to see a giant gate further down. There was a long line of cars waiting to be let in and I was already getting impatient. How many people were attending this thing? Hadrian opened his door and got out. I watched him call one of the security guards then point to where I was. He came back and opened my door.
"Max is going to drive my car in so we can go."
I stepped out already missing his car. Hadrian grabbed my hand and started walking. I could feel the stares of the people in the line causing me to lower my head.
"Why are there so many people?" I muttered to Hadrian.
"Because my dad invited very influentially people as well as my family. So I'm expecting maybe 300 people."
I didn't reply as I was distracted by his dad's 'house'. It was five floors high and seemed to be bigger than the White house. The entrance was surrounded by paparazzi who were taking pictures of the entering guests.
"There's paparazzi," I said.
"I know."
I stood in front of him, blocking his way. He still didn't let go of my hand so I used the other one to poke his hard chest.
"They'll see you with me."
"So?" He looked confused.
"They'll assume you're dating me."
"So?"
"Then I'll get hate mail from all those girl was fawn over you and then they'll look into my lifestory and start following me around-"
"We'll sort it out if it gets to that. Now, can we go inside?"
I reluctantly let him take me towards the entrance. The snapping of pictures increased the second Hadrian went passed. I looked towards the floor, hiding my face. Once we were inside, we were directed to a ball room that looked like something out of fairy-tales. There were multiple chandeliers that looked like they had diamonds, the walls were gold and white with a marble floor. People were already socialising, making me feel insignificant.
Hadrian released my hand but moved his to the lower part of my back. His hand was warm on my bare back. He leaned towards my ear.
"The girl coming right now is Cupid."
I looked up to see a beautiful girl with honey gold hair that fell in curls. Her legs went on for miles giving her a model look. She was unnaturally gorgeous and knew Hadrian as he moved forward to hug her.
"Fancy seeing you here, Hade," her voice was like a melody. "And who is this?"
Hadrian released her and put his hand back. "This is Rhea. Rhea meet Cupid, my cousin."
She glanced at me then began to smirk. "Seth was right."
"What am I right about?" The older DiRomero brother came to stand next to Cupid.
"Them two liking each other," she told him.
"Ah. Yeah, it's so obvious. Hadrian, King's looking for you," Seth said.
"I'll go and see what he wants," Hadrian tried to take me with him but Cupid pulled me towards her.
"Go. I want to spend some time with her."
He looked torn between taking me with him or leaving me with his cousin. "Fine. I'm coming back in a second."
Cupid watched him go then turned her pale grey eyes on me. "So you like my cousin?"
"No?"
She let out a laugh. "You do. I'm the angel of love and I wouldn't even use the word attracted to describe you two. I can't wait for you to meet King. Hadrian's gonna get jelly and I'm going to enjoy the show."
I had no idea what she was talking about. She gestured that I should follow her which I did. I saw that she was taking me to Hadrian and beside him was a guy, the same height as him, and almost just as attractive.
"Hade, I brought Rhea. Hello King. You're looking as good as always."
King looked the same age as Hadrian and had shoulder length brown hair that was tied back in a ponytail. He smiled at Cupid then smiled at me. His eyes were a clear green and dark eye lashes framed them.
"Hello Rhea," he said in a deep voice.
"Hi," I managed to mumble out.
Hadrian moved towards me and place a possessive arm around my waist. "Rhea, this is King. Alpha of the largest werewolf pack in the world and one of my oldest friends."
"King, maybe you should show Rhea around the mansion," Cupid said, grinning.
"I can do it," Hadrian argued.
"But your dad wants to talk to you."
"I can talk to him later."
"Rhea wouldn't you like King to show you around? It would be fun and private."
Cupid was playing a dangerous game with Hadrian's emotions as his eyes were turning darker. I didn't answer, not wanting to get into the invisible battle that was going on.
Hadrian's eyes narrowed and Cupid gave him an innocent smile. "I know what you're doing, Cupid and it's not going to work. I'll talk to you later, King."
