"Welcome home!" I said as we walked through the doors and set our bags down.
"Oh, it's even better than I remember it!" She exclaimed. I realized she never actually had gotten a tour of the place, so I did what any gentleman would do and I showed her around.
"Wow, thanks so much Alex!" She beamed as I told her she could pick any room she wanted. She picked my personal favorite-so I suggested that we share. Not that we hadn't been sharing a bedroom for the past two months or so anyway..Haha.
"You sure?" She asked. "I kind of feel like I'm intruding." She said.
"I invited you to live with me, remember?" I clarified, pointing out that she was, in fact, not intruding at all.
"Right." She said and walked over to the kitchen. I followed her.
"You hungry?" I asked.
"All the time." she said looking in the fridge.
"You want me to make something?"
"Yes, please!" She said, surprised by my offer.
"K, then, uh, what do you want?"
"Anything." She immediately answered.
"Okay." I pulled a number of things down from the cupboards and went to work. In the end, I had made enough food for a whole town and Ashley, who was immensely surprised that I could cook, ate all of it.
"That was amazing!" She said. "Thanks so much!" She beamed.
"No problem! You wanna watch a movie?"
"What movies do you have?" She asked eagerly.
"Uh..." I thought for a moment. "I don't know.." I admitted.
"Well, let's go find out then!" She said. She rummaged around our little theater and popped in a movie. Not even half way through it though, she was lightly snoring. I laughed quietly and stood up.
I'd been wanting to ask Ashley something, but I needed the one little thing that a man must absolutely have when asking this question. So I got in my car and drove to the mall to get it. When I came back home Ashley was still asleep. I went upstairs to the second floor and put on my tuxedo, for this was the most important question I have ever asked anyone in my entire life. I came back down stairs and found Ashley just waking up.
"Did you have a good nap?" I asked. She stretched and nodded, rubbing her eyes. She blinked a couple of times and then confusion crossed her face.
"Alex?.."
"Yes, Babe?"
"...Why are you wearing a tuxedo?" She asked.
"Well, today is a very important day!" I answered smiling.
"..It is?"
"Uh, huh! Come on, get up!" I said. I held out my hand for her and waited patiently.
"What's so important about today?" She asked as I was leading her out the door and into the garden.
"I have to ask you a very important question!" I answered.
"Yes, I do love you more, if that's where you're getting at." She said gravely. I laughed.
"What?" She asked.
"Come on!" I said as I pulled aside the vines that led to our little safe haven. She gasped.
"I forgot all about this place!" She said, thrilled. I grinned as she went through. I stepped through behind her and took her hand.
"Yes, okay, you love me more." I said. She giggled.
