Listen to the video above :D

Emily's POV

"What? Back to Silver Creek?" Jared repeated incredulously. "Well, it's a solution that has been proven to work many times, and I think it will work for Ms Fox as well," Doctor Jensen said calmly. "But she works here... And how will she pay rent and-" I held up a hand. "Well, I DO have savings so I can stay here in Manhattan but... Well, if the doctor thinks that going back to rest will help me, I think we shouldn't completely rule out the option of going back to Silver Creek." I tried to be neutral. Jared stared at me with a vaguely shocked expression.

"Well, I'll leave you both to a decision. Good day!" The doctor whisked out of the room. Immediately, Jared began talking. "Emily, you can't go back! I mean, I don't want you to leave and I'm sure the others back at the Times don't want you to go too! You yourself said that you liked it here and I'm doubting that you would feel better back at Silver Creek but I guess it's your choice and I'm being selfish. But Emily, you-" I sighed and smiled at him fondly. "Jared, I don't want to leave to, but if I go back I'll have a chance of recovering. Plus, I want to meet my other friends..."

Jared ran a hand through his dishevelled hair a little wildly. "It's your choice, Em... If you want to go back, I won't stop you. But please, let me go with you too?" He looked at me pleadingly with puppy-dog eyes. Jared would do that for me? Or does he have some sort of ulterior motive or... Oh, stop worrying. Jared is a nice person and he genuinely cares for you! "I'd love that," I replied sincerely. His face brightened up at my words. "Well, I haven't even decided whether to go back or not," I mumbled, flushing again.

Matthew's POV

I couldn't make out anything in my room. Because I didn't turn on the lights. Collapsing onto my bed, I allowed the complete darkness to smother me. The curtains were drawn, it was nighttime and the entire flat was silent. It's abnormally quiet. Because you closed and locked the door, maybe? And maybe because the walls are soundproof? I rolled over onto my side. The meeting turned out to be a disaster. I didn't know what I was doing. I almost risked my job. And I was the only one directly challenging Steinfield.

I groaned out loud, planting my face into my pillow defeatedly. I shouldn't have done that. Why did I stand up? I'm an idiot. A first-class idiot. Well, at least you proved that you aren't just a mute, submissive puppet, right? NO! I almost got fired, I swear I did! The look in that man's eyes! I bet the only thing stopping him from kicking me out of this job on the spot was that he was with others! I love this job, and I just put myself at RISK OF LOSING IT! You have to take risks. You have to fight for what's right...

I flipped onto my back and listened intently. I could hear the fan blades whirring. The night was still. I was hungry but I didn't have the energy to get up and find something to eat. Why am I so stupid? And why's my life getting worse and WORSE? First, Em leaves. Then, 9R starts to drift away, along with my friends - and my emotional restraint. Now, I'm starting to lose my job! What else could happen? Go on, throw more oil on this burning wreckage! Now you're just being irrational. Yay. Newsflash. I totally didn't know that.

Emily's POV

Obviously, I made the most predictable choice imaginable. "So when do you think I should be going?" I asked Dr Jensen. "Well, my team thinks that a good time would be in about a week and a half's time. Of course, the sooner the better," he chuckled although it wasn't funny, "but you still need time to pack and everything." I forced a smile and nodded. "Of course. Now, when will I be discharged?" Ugh, they keep delaying. I'm FINE now! Well, it IS for your own good. Imagine if you HAD been run over...

I waited for a while as the doctor ran a finger down his clipboard. "Well, I believe you can be released tomorrow if we can confirm your... Ah... Your stability." He smiled again, seemingly fake, and strode off, the doors swinging behind him, before I could say anything in reply. I rolled my eyes at his retreating back. Jared had run off to finish up an article with a promise to return later on, so I was left alone in my room, contemplating multiple solutions to curb my boredom.

Hijacking a trolley was out of the question, and so was roaming the hospital grounds like some sort of creepy ghost. My phone was out of battery and there were no doctors in the vicinity to pick on or engage in boring small talk with. Thus, I was left with only one option: lie in bed and die slowly, second by second. It's freezing in here! Well, what do you think a blanket is for? Cover yourself up! Idiot. Hey, this blanket is dirty and thin and absolutely doing itself no justice. Ugh. I can't wait to go home...

Matthew's POV

"Okay, 9R, listen up..." The class quietened down drastically at my - hopefully frightening and serious - face and most of them sat up attentively (the minority slouched down over their chairs like dying fish). "I know it's after exams and stuff, but the school has, sadly, forced me to tell you all to continue your work for the Science Fair that's... Hmm... Two weeks away. Yeah, two weeks. So please get into your groups and work on your projects! I'll bring some of you down to the Lab..."

The room filled with chatter immediately as the kids mingled and slowly separated into smaller groups of four or five. "I'll be taking five groups down first, and I don't want you all to get into trouble while I'm gone, okay?" I yelled over the noise. A few of the teams clamoured to be brought down first around me. I counted them. "Okay, one more group, please follow us downstairs!" I walked out the door, inhaling in the fresher air outside of the stuffy classroom.

Once we arrived at the lab, I let them loose to discuss and build whatever they had been planning, while I sat casually in front at the teacher's desk, checking my phone for lack of something to do. I clicked the messages that were flooding in. One announcement for another dry, drab meeting in the Staff Room. Another message on Jeremy taking leave - no doubt to game the night away. Then, my eyes fell on something I had been hoping for. Emily Sophie Fox: Hey, Mattie, I'll be coming back for a month or two. Want to meet up?

A/N: Hey guys, sorry for not updating! Well, I'll be giving what I've written so far to in-real-life Emily as a present. Umm... Wish me luck? Remember to R&R~ <3
