Marinette gulped and moved out of the way and let Gabriel walk inside the house. "What're you doing here?" She nervously laughed and lead him to the living room.

"I came here to see my son. Where is he?"

"He's out with everyone else." Marinette smiled. "Are you thirsty? I can get you something to drink."

"I am fine." Gabriel glared at her and she smiled.

Crying came from upstairs and Marinettes eyes widened. Emit hadn't cried at night for a month now. "Excuse me." She ran upstairs to Emits room and found him wide awake in his crib balling his eyes out. "Oh sweetie. Must have been a nightmare." Marinette mumbled to herself and picked her child up and rocked him back and fourth, humming soothing tunes to him. Gabriel walked upstairs and heard the humming and walked to Emits room. He saw Marinette bouncing a little holding something. Emit stopped crying and smiled at his mother. "Wanna see Grandpa Gabriel?" He babbled a yes. Gabriel walked downstairs and sat in the living room.

Marinette walked down the stairs and into the living room a few minutes after him. "Bofaloma." Emit babbled and Marinette giggled.

"Gabriel, this is your grandson, Emit. You haven't met yet I believe." Marinette smiled and cradled Emit in her arms while Gabriel looked at his grandson. He saw Adrien in him, and Marinette but didn't know why they could love such a child. "Please don't tell Adrien. I don't think he wanted you two to meet." She smiled at Gabriel and Emit glared at the man.

Emit glared at Gabriel, looking dead at him, studying everything he could at that age then giggled and took his finger and sucked on it. "Gaboo." Emit giggled and Gabriel's icy heart melted a little. It sounded like he was saying his name.

"Why would my son not want us to meet?"

"Because you say my son when you didn't treat him like one and you never say his name. It's not like it's poison." Marinette giggled and Emit giggled too and took Gabriel's finger out of his mouth. "Sorry about the finger thing, it just means he likes you." Gabriel blinked while Marinette rocked Emit back to sleep. "Let me put Emit back in his crib and then we can talk." Marinette walked up to Emits room and put him in his crib then went back to the living room. She sat down on the couch and Gabriel on the chair across from her. "What did you need to talk about, exactly?"

Gabriel honestly forgot but knew it was something to do with Adrien. Emit was so god damn cute he could make you forget everything. "Why are you here alone? Shouldn't someone else be here with you?"

"I wanted to be alone. I'm never alone here." Marinette giggled. "Besides, Adrien spends so much time with Emit and me it's time he get some time with his friends." Marinette sighed and looked out the window. "It's kinda like he's scared to be alone."

"I see."

Marinette looked at Gabriel and smiled. She didn't understand why Adrien hates him so much. "What did you need to see Adrien for? I can take a message for him or can call him to get him here." Marinette smiled at him. Gabriel didn't understand why Adrien would marry someone so, nice.

"Tell me Miss Marinette-"

"You can call me Marinette. We're technically family now, I mean if you want to." Marinette sheepishly smiled and cringed to herself about how she was acting.

"Tell me Marinette, what does Adrien see in you?"

"I honestly don't know. I think he just sees me as a person to be safe around. Around everyone else, his smile is fake and then around me I can see it's real. I think he knows I'd love him no matter what, even if he the ugliest man alive. I think he knows I love him for who he is, not what his face shows." Marinette answered with a smile. "My papa says that you say and do crazy things when you're in love."

"Like run away?" Marinette cringed at the memory.

"Love blinds us from logic but sometimes leads us to destiny." Marinette smiled. "I'll admit, it was pretty stupid to do that but he didn't want to go to Harvard and if you just listened to him you would have known that. I mean not that you don't listen but if you just gave Adrien room to give his opinion I'm sure you could've found common ground." Marinette giggled nervously, not sure if Gabriel would hurt her or not.

He nodded and looked around the living room, the silence eating away at her. He saw all of the pictures on the bookshelves and the many books they had lining the empty shelves. "Why so many books?"

"Reading is a way to escape without actually leaving." Marinette smiled as the graving in the driveway rumbled. "They should be back now, excuse me." Marinette left him in the living room and walked out the front of the house. She opened the door and looked outside and saw Adrien looking at Gabriel's car.

Adrien looked at Marinette and marched over to the door with the class behind him. "Is he here?"

"Yes but-" Adrien pushed her out of the way and into the house. "Adrien!" Marinette ran after him and into the house so he wouldn't do anything irrational.. She ran after him while he marched around the house, trying to find Gabriel. "Adrien stop!" She grabbed his arm and he looked at her.

"Did he hurt you?" He grabbed her by the shoulders.

"What! No!" she pushed his hands away and walked to the living room.

"Did he see Emit?"

"No." Marinette lied perfectly. She walked into the living room and sat down across form Gabriel. "Sorry. They're all still a little wild." She nervously laughed hoping he would buy it, and he did. "What else did you want to ask me? Or I could go get Adrien."

"No, that will do." Gabriel stood up and left the house. Marinette sighed as she stood up and walked over to Adrien who was fuming.

"Adrien, lets just go to bed. I'm tired and you're tired, I can tell. I have a final in the morning and everyone else has to get to college." Adrien nodded and got into his pajamas and went to bed like everyone else. In the morning he woke up before the others and walked into Emits room and sat in the rocking chair with him in his arms.

"Hey Emit. Any words this morning?"

"Gabalogo." Emit smiled at him and Adrien chuckled.

"Close enough." Adrien laughed and rocked Emit back and fourth in the chair, him giggling and Adrien laughing a little with him.

Marinette woke up after him and heard the giggling and walked to Emits room. She found Adrien playing with him and she laughed and sat next to him on the floor and played with them. She loved seeing the boys in her life being together. "Adrien, do you think he'll be a nice kid?"

"With us as parents, of course." Adrien chuckled and kissed her cheek. Emit giggled and started to babble what sounded like a word.
